The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Latin: Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici), commonly known as the Knights Templar, the Order of the Temple or simply as Templars, were among the most famous of the Western Christian military orders. The organization existed for nearly two centuries during the Middle Ages. Officially endorsed by the Catholic Church ...

    The Catholic Church owes the holy knights an apology

    • @SmolTerribleTornado
      @SmolTerribleTornado 7 лет назад

      The pope wrote an apology to the knights and absolved them from the charges of heresy, the whole knights martyrdom was actually an intent of the french crown to get their hands in the "treasure" of the knights templar. Was either the knights death or a full scale attack to rome by the french nation. (Not the first time politicians target christians) by the time of the WWI the french culottes were also target of the. The remnants of the knights still living in today orders either by tradition or historical legacy. There is this order called "militia templi"

    >European people were harassed for 4 centuries during the something called ISLAMIC CONQUEST where Muslim armies conquered almost 2/3 of the Christian world. You know how there are really few Christians in the Middle East, Levant, and North Africa, well guess what, Christians were THE MAJORITY in the many of these lands before the Islamic Conquest. What happened? Slavery, desecration of the Christian most holy sites, one of them the Church of the Holy Sepulcher itself, forceful conversion and mass executions. By the time the first crusade began about 1 million Christians were forced into slavery only. Expansion of Islam in the very heart of Europe was only stopped by Charles Martel at Tours. > In order to save Europe from ongoing Muslim threat Urban II listened to the plea of Byzantine Emperor Alexios and called for the Crusade. > After the first Crusade Order of the Poor Knights of the Temple of Solomon was formed to PROTECT PILGRIMS and DEFEND the KINGDOM OF JERUSALEM. On the philosophical side, they were considered martyrs because they were willing to take a life, thus condemn their own souls, in order to protect others. > They grew in influence and numbers thanks to the discoveries of large amounts of gold and relics beneath the Temple of Solomon. > They grew into the most elite, feared force in the Holy Land and were respected even by their enemies for their unmatched courage and bravery in battle. > They were viewed throughout the whole of Europe and even by Muslims who they fought as the most honorable and courageous people of the time. Code of Chivalry was based on the Templar Latin Rule, and contrary to the popular liberal opinion they DID NOT harass the people of other faiths, on the contrary, they even had friendly Imams who were allowed to pray in areas controlled by the Templars without any problem. > Templars DID NOT participate in the attack on the Byzantine Empire during the Fourth Crusade, in fact not a single military order did, it was Venetian lords. > All those myths about them being an evil secret society come from the false accusations against them made by Philip IV. > During the sieges of Acre, Antioch they sacrificed themselves to save as many civilians as they could from the ongoing massacre. After Hattin, about 500 knights were executed for refusing to convert to Islam, yes they had the choice Islam or death, they chose death. > Templars were the best representation of the "perfect Christian knight" ideal, unmatched by battle skill and honor. > To Europeans, do not be ashamed of your history because you have every reason to be proud of your glorious and heroic ancestors who bled to defend their homeland Europe. > To liberals, Assassin' Creed fans, and butthurt nationalistic Turks: Do a research on the topic before you start spreading bullshit.

      +lace w History is doomed to repeat itself till people start to learn from it. What has happened 1000 years ago starts to happen again. Muslims are aggressive once again and the world is on brink of religious war. These knights had nothing to get away with, they sacrificed their lives for Christianity and the weak, sure there were some of them who did not respect the moral code, but that goes with every organization ever formed. Most of Templar Knights are viewed as so honorable and noble that the code of chivalry in Late Middle Ages was based on the code and moral of Knights Templar. And it is complete bullshit and desecration of history and memory of them that happens today. Under influence of liberal idiots the name and memory on this knights is twisted and most of people think of them as bloodthirsty wanna-slay-all-that-is-not-christian idiots. While some of the oldest accusations on Templar Knights is that they were too tolerant on Muslim customs and people. And as the man on the comment above said, this unsung heroes of Europe sacrificed everything for God just to be cursed by their descendants and portrayed as mass murdering nazis. Tell me where is justice in that?

    • @knighttemplar3915
      @knighttemplar3915 9 лет назад

      +lace w I am not professional historian if that is what you ask, but I have been researching and studying history of the Knights Templar and the Crusades for 12 years. As for Freemasons and their connection with Templar Knight here is rational historical explanation. French king Philip IV the Fair was deeply in debt to the Order, and besides that he was concerned about rumors that Templar desire their own state, like Teutonic Order had. So with his debt that was greater than his whole property. Short version of the story: He pressured false charges against the Order and pressured Pope to take an action against it, as a way of freeing himself from the debt, and also to take some of the Templar Knights property. At Friday 13th of October in 1307. Philip ordered an arrest of De Molay and other French Templars due this charges. Many confessed under the torture(One of the Templars said "Under such torture I would confess of killing God himself"), only to retract their confessions after. After the series of Philip's games and political skirmishes with Pope, yeah Philip threatened a military action if things do not go his way, Templar Knights were finally disbanded in 1312. and De Molay burned at stake at 1314. With the last of the Order's leaders gone, the remaining Templars around Europe were either arrested and tried under the Papal investigation, absorbed into other military orders such as the Knights of the Saint John (Hospitallers), or pensioned off and allowed to live out their days peacefully. Many of Knights virtually disappeared along with Templar fleet and their treasure. So in that moment lies the very root of all stories and connections of Knights Templar and Masons. A numerous myths were based upon that moment, that Templar Knights appeared at the Battle of Bannockburn and that their appearance was in fact the reason of English retreat. But then there are less interesting gibberish like: With death of De Molay, first Masonic order was born, Templars guarded the secrets that could destroy the Church, Templars went to America and formed secret society, and other Da Vinci Code style bullshit. So that are just stories with zero facts or proofs to back up them. What really happened to the Templar Knights in the end? Well, the remaining merged with Hospitallers, or went to Scotland and Switzerland. Templars in Portugal simply changed names to Knights of Christ and remained to exist as a military order.

    This is a pretty good video. For some reason everyone ignores and overlooks the fact that Muslims wanted (and still want) to conquer the world basically mercilessly....The Crusades were a time when people stood up for what was right and had some spine. I'm not saying they didn't make mistakes or ever kill anyone who was innocent: I am sure they did. But the premise and direct initial cause of the Crusades was Muslim invasion of non-Muslim land. And to this day everyone demonizes Christians and patronizes Muslims about it.

  • @Saintnex
    @Saintnex 11 лет назад

    Your points are interesting, and I do agree with some of them, like without the crusades, the current world would not exist. That being said, I would disagree with the point about the crusades being a purely defensive war. One of the goals of the first was certainly to hold back the Muslims, and had that been the only goal, then it would be defensive, but the other goal was to take Jerusalem from the Muslims, a city that had been under Muslim control for over 3 cenuries.
