What knocks out pain like NSAIDS?
Some people try things like acetaminophen or topical creams. Consult with your doctor for your specific situation.
I find the struggle is hard when they hit middle school. You can't monitor the snacks they buy, teachers selling out the closet, ice cream fundraisers from the principal
You can discuss frequency and portion size.
