Beginner Acrylic Series: How to Avoid Flooding the Cuticle Area
SUCH a good video. I am loving this channel, your videos are so helpful. I'm self taught,I'd love to go to school. Not many schools around me🙄
Thank you so much for your amazing videos😊
Great video super helpful! Any advice for a monomer to use that isn't strong smelling. I want to practice more with acrylic but I get headaches with monomer.Thank you and I'm a *new* sub btw😊❤
Yass!
What hand are you using?
Theres nothing wrong with clients that want simple nails Its easy money, quick work and they may occasionally or eventually want more detailed nails. Id never see a tech who gets all bichee because I want simple nails, and Id never turn a client away because they like the clean look Imagine a hairdresser saying No to a client because they have an easy cut… In some cities you can be picky, but in most thats really bad business advice Take the clients you can get to build a clientele, do good work and get referrals and even lifelong clients Those easy nails are often a techs bread and butter, most women aren’t coming in for $400 nails
The detail is awesome… just subscribed ❣️

How do you get the nail to stay in the practice hand?
@@757Princess watch my recent skilled ep. 3 video and you’ll see it there! 🫶
What is the difference between cover powder and normal acrylic powder?
Normal acrylic (clear)is used to encapsulate usually, color acrylic is used to add color and cover is more of a skin tone acrylic that covers the nail 🤍hope that helped
@@debrabuth696 Acrylic powder is for building and creating structure, while cover powder adds strength and hides imperfections, making it great for designs. You can always add gel on top for detailed work!
Thank you 😊
can't you wash the file?
Hi love, great question! Unfortunately, nail files are made from paper, so washing them will cause them to fall apart. Also, blood-borne viruses like HIV can’t be washed away-you need Barbicide to kill them. So, using the same file on multiple clients could spread infections.
Yes this was the best video I have watched so far regarding acrylic application for beginners I am definitely going to implement all of the tips do you provided in this video and stop the painting motion😂😂

Can you show a full video on the full process. I need to know when to redip my brush in the monomer and when to wipe my brush. I add the first bead and then I’m confused. Pat down that bead or put the bead down, then wipe and grab more monomer and then pat down?
@@CaramelCali I totally understand! It can get a bit tricky knowing when to dip, wipe, and pat the bead. I’ll work on putting together a full video showing the process step by step, but here’s a quick breakdown in the meantime: 1. After you place the first bead, gently pat it down to shape it. 2. If the bead feels dry, wipe your brush on a paper towel to remove excess product, then dip back into the monomer to keep your brush hydrated. 3. Continue patting and shaping the bead as needed, making sure your brush isn’t overloaded with monomer. Stay tuned for the full video! 😊💅
@@makarttpro thank you! With your tips I’ve learned so far, I got my full acrylic set down from 2/3 days to one full day!! (I know sad) I guess I have to still work on making the perfect bead consistency because when I put the first bead down and try to pat it down, my brush is sticking to the bead and when I redip my brush, the bead is already drying. I do need to buy better quality products but I’m going through so much product practicing. 😂 I’m doing my own set so trying to keep my fingers downward is a challenge, especially on my right hand! But as an extreme nail bitter, I have to do my nails to literally protect my nails. My life is seriously on halt if I don’t have on acrylics, so I sincerely appreciate your response and the education!
@@CaramelCali that’s an amazing progress! Don’t feel bad-it takes time to get the process down, and getting from 2-3 days to one day is a huge achievement! It’ll come with time. I totally get the struggle with doing your own nails, especially with keeping your fingers downward and working on your non-dominant hand. But your dedication is inspiring! And as a nail biter, I’m sure your acrylics are a lifesaver. 💗💅
I felt the same way getting my cosmetology license. It takes years to perfect your craft. Stay focused!😊
@@nancydent3147 Keep up the great work and stay focused-you’ve got this! 💪💅

This is how I file as well, there's just one difference with the underneath thats it
@@missblacksheepdoesnails it’s a great filing technique! 💗

Could you show a liquid to powder ratio? I know you told us in the video here, but a video with just the L and P would be helpful. Thanks!
I loved this video, thank you so much for doing it. To get makartts pro acrylic do we get it on Amazon? Or do they have a website for those things?
This was a perfectly explained video I finished nail school in may and my friends are mad that I don’t want to do their nails yet they want me to practice on them but I had to explain to the m the nail school doesn’t teach acrylic so I would have to practice my prep and acrylic application so the nail would last I rather wait and practice then do ur nails and they fall of the same or few days ❤👏🏽✨and ima try evening out my acrylic before going in for a bead thanks for the tip
This is so true! I think people definitely think that oh like if my friend goes to nail school then she can do my nails, but it actually takes a bit more on our part to practice on people close to us before we can feel confident! Hopefully, this liquid to powder ratio tip helps you out! Keep me updated!
PLEASE KEEP MAKING THESE!! i am learning how to do my own nails and this is one of the most helpful videos ive watched so far

Thank you very much The video was very helpful. Please do a video on shaping. Just a beginner
We love it! Definitely coming right up!
Okay so I made a super rookie mistake and I set my new brush (same one in the video) on my paper towel and it was damp with monomer. I stepped away from my table and when I came back I noticed the paper towel stuck to my brush and now it has this sticky residue. What do I do?! I love this brush and it was my first time using it. Any advise on how I can clean the handle? ☹️
Use brush cleaner! There's a good brush cleaner from MakarttPro, available on amazon.com

Do you dip in monomer after placing bead. Like when u remove the excess?
Or only before getting bead
I do both! After I place the bead down, I rehydrate my brush so that I am working with a well hydrated brush!
@@makarttproso you do hydrate the brush after setting the bead on the nail, do you wipe your brush on the edge of your monomer dish? If so how many times?
So glad this popped up on my feed ❤
Me too 🥺
