That's why you get DVDs!!!
It's worth noting that Christopher Lloyd and Steve Levitan were also writers on Frasier. Lloyd was even the showrunner for most of its run.
People get hurt over everything. 30 rock made fun of EVERY demo. Comedy shouldn't be safe
Found this from the modern family reddit and I recommend another sitcom Jesse Tyler Ferguson was in "do not disturb" it also got cancelled before a season 2!!
It’s funny you mention that show specifically! It came up in conversation recently for a new project that will be launching here shortly, but I had no idea JTF was in that as well; consider it added to the list!
Ugh! where is part 2? I loved the class and loved part 1.
Thank you for watching (and caring)! I’ve gotten tied up in a new project that will be launching on the channel in the near future, but I promise part 2 is in the works!
Back to you probably would’ve gotten season two but this show is a prime example of writers strike casualty. Besides creative problems as well as high cost for the main stars which I still think would’ve been overcome if not for the networks trying to recover from the strike.
The problem with out of practice is that how I met your mother had better retention after king of Queens and the 930 slot between two and and a half men and CSI Miami always had a rotation of shows. Out of practice had bad retention and then when the new adventures of old Christine premiered in 2006, that did a lot better. Out of practice was actually one of the highest rated shows canceled that season and was even more interesting is that CBS owned it so that would be more incentive for them to keep it.
I’ve been watching a lot of 30 rock compilation videos, and this is such a breath of fresh air. Congratulations on making this video!!
Perhaps not tasteful, but the black panther hand is funnier.
Great Breakdown
Gruber Brother and Nipsey is a send up to Smother Brothers and Laugh in. Both legendary, live comedy shows
I hope to hell that Fey is the one that takes over for Lorne when he retires.
Zippedy goo goo.

Fake outrage. This one of the wokest shows ever. In a good way. But Hulu doesn’t allow black face just blanket policy I guess. Or brown face anything (Dee dressed as Mexican woman in Always Sunny also banned). If something is funny it’s funny. John hamm is making fun of the white ppl that voiced Amos and Andy? Or something? The point being the shit was criticized by the black guy and the audience you would hope. It’s harder to have edgy humor in a world run by advertisers.
no. not subtle.
Woah this unlocked old memories for me. I remember watching this when it aired with my parents when I was a kid. I don’t think I realized it was live lol
I get that it was kinda shocking and could've upset some people, but the whole point in that particular controversial sketch was very very evidently not racist/malicious. There's an important place for that particular type of humor. You have to sort of trust the audience a lot with that kind of humor.
This. It was using humor to highlight and mock the racism in previous eras of television.
anyone offended shouldn't have been born

For those who remember: BANJO!
I remember!
Nothing like a fan to suck all the funny out.
When did they get rid of this? Because I’ve seen this.
Where is the previous 30 rock video, which was mentioned in the beginning of this video?
Thank you for validating my vague memory of this double episode
Everything is better with Hader
I’m really surprised as to how relatively recently the videos began, but it’s a great concept that could possibly make their way to other shows (though creator overlap can potentially happen). I’ve already realized that my favorite cancellation might be Stargate Universe, because it freed up Robert Carlyle and Ming Na for Once Upon a Time and Agents of SHIELD, easily two of my favorite shows ever
what is the track playing in the background of this video?
I have 30 Rock on DVD so this episode is available to me and is funny as hell. They were not trying to be offensive with the Jon Hamm-Tracey Jordan except to exaggerate the racism displayed at thst time and yes, Amos and Andy was racist. I saw it as a kid and it was cringe despite the talents of the actors.
Black hand ha ha haaa. Ha haaa
Do you not understand the distinction between mocking something tasteless and enjoying that tasteless thing? What stupid moral outrage you display. Tina Fey showed typical, pointless white guilt by pulling this and the other episodes after the Great Awokening, which is just evangelical purity culture for white guilt.
Nah Tina Fey has always had weird racial comedy dating back to her SNL days. A lot of which just didn't age well.
Not sure what’s so bad about parodying Amos and Andy. The joke clearly isn’t that Jon hamm is dressed as a black man. Hey ho.
I love Kenneth
😂
The Black face and hand, is hilarious. So dressing in drag, no problem but black face andbblack hand, which are both funny, unacceptable. The Nipsy is most likely a reference, to Nipsy Russel, who Was a variety Show and game show.
Unfortunately double standards
@@h.l.asolomonov7674they are different things to different people. The histories are different. It’s just how shit is
Perhaps "Gruber Brother" is a reference to "The Higgins Boys And Gruber," an early 1990s show on The Comedy Channel featuring Steve Higgens, Dave Higgins and Dave "The Gruber" Allen.
yeah, & guess who complained? old rich white America women (AKA Karens) ...did you hear Teacy Morgan complaining? Nope.
I also recommend "the knights of prosperity" a single season abc comedy from the mid 2000s with Sofia Vergara
Oh man, I think remember that show! It also had Donal Logue from Grounded for Life, I think? Great suggestion, thank you!
Josh gad has guest starred on modern family as a friend of Phil's
this was cancelled but the stupid David spade show ran for years.
Not a rules of engagement fan here, but it’s worth noting that while that *was* a midseason debut on CBS in February ‘07, the series that formally replaced The Class on that year’s fall lineup was The Big Bang Theory. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse, but make of it what you will
@@willadvised yeah it’s crazy how the class and the Big Bang theory pretty much had the same timeslot of year apart yet one show gets canceled after a season and the other one runs for 12 years
‼️‼️new will-advised video ‼️‼️
Looking good, maybe add more narration, especially during the first 20 seconds. #feedbackfriday
I just found your channel and great videos. Love this idea too. Thank you.
Thank *you*! Glad you found your way here!
W Video
thank you!
This video was great! I've watched the pilot so many times and it was cool to hear someone dissect it and its various plot points. I know what a lot of the cast has done since, but I wasn't familiar with what they'd done before the Class -- besides Mean Girls -- so I loved that too! Can't wait for the next part :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Nice video, and good for you to post this a third time. Hope that this video won’t be blocked a third time.
Thank you! Here’s hoping!
@@willadvised You’re welcome.
It was an important statement, but including that outspoken moment of condemnation in her "SNL" performance without letting producers in on it ahead of time was definitely a mistake. However, yes, rest in peace, Sinead. 🕊
Love that episode
Trivia: in the east coast version, Jane portrays Dusty Springfield with a Sutherrrrrrn accent. Between shows, someone must have told her that Dusty is indeed English and Jane does the West coast version with a proper accent.
Loved this episode smh
3:27 didn't age well.
I knew he was a hothead, had no idea he'd be a killer. His money & fame and crappy Prosecution Team is how he beat the rap.
“oo wee wow, those racist jokes sure didn’t age well. Let me show you this man in dress, haha, that’s much funnier”
