Average Guy DIY

Добавлен 4 июн 2020
My channel is all about DIY (do it yourself) projects and a whole lot more. I always seem to be turning wrenches or fixing small issues around the house, renovating or even just doing general maintenance. I like to learn more about different skills especially ones that don't come naturally to me and I like to find unique ways to save time, money and learn how to do things more efficiently.

THERMOSTAT TEST FOR NATURAL GAS STOVE
Просмотров 17811 месяцев назад
Had to test a cooling thermostat that controls the fan on our natural gas stove that we use to heat the house in winter. I couldn't find anything on RUclips or the internet to explain how to do this. Found all kinds of vids on how to test a heater thermostat in appliances like ovens, or for a home HVAC system (wall thermostat for a hot air furnace), and even how to test your engine thermostat o...

Great vid! The answers I was looking for.
What kind of loft did you use?
I used linear actuators from Amazon.
Nice boat thanks for the tutorial
Holy smokes. I think I can do this! Thanks!
Worked perfectly for Kia Sportage 2017. Thanks!
Are the KIA frame bolt holes threaded? If yes, what keeps the bolts from vibrating loose?
I unfortunately can’t remember but I think they might be.
Thank you for explaining how to overlap the vinyl correctly. Having not done this before, it never would have occurred to me that the seams aren't visible when viewed from one angle versus another.
Hi, where can I buy this motorized shelf lifter?
I purchased these on Amazon. They are called linear actuators. :)
So what if I don't want to nail each soffit and just add an F channel on the subfaica board and just insert them?
Over time it will expand and contract, you do want to make sure it's secure but of course that is possible as well.
Great video
Where does the water go at the bottom of the window? Is it shed to the front of the siding or does it go behind the siding? I’m confused
The water beads down from top to bottom always on the outside. I am thinking about doing a more in depth updated video about it soon.
Thank you
I wanted to see how to finish on top
You have to cut it out like a puzzle and continue layering all the way up to the peak.
J Channel is used on almost all block homes in Florida. You cant install the F on a 2x2 nailer with Stucco. Fine on wood frame.
Do you alternate or scatter the joints so all are not at the same place up the entire wall? How do you do that? Like wood flooring of a 3 board spacing pattern?
Yes that's the idea. It will happen automatically, just take full pieces of siding and mount them to the wall until the last one. The last one will most likely be too long so you will need to cut it. Use the cut piece to continue the wall by taking it back to the original starting place (above the fist piece you placed). This will create the pattern.
Thanks for the simple and QUICK video. Showed the basics. Exactly what most people need.
thanks for the video instructions. i experienced the same problem and took the speaker off today . but then i decided to test it outside the car. when i connected it to another audio source suprisingly the speaker worked. so now i am confused whether to buy a new one or search for other reasons of this fault. i mean speaker works with other audio output but when connected to car it simply does not work. Can it be a bad fuse on the car that controls this hazard and signal light speaker? thanks
Could you please tell me the thermal fuse's part number? I cannot find it anywhere
This is stuff of legends right here 🔥🔥🔥
How did you open the speaker lid the video cut off, I’m really not trying to break anything.
Use something like a card or a flat head screw driver. It takes some wiggling to get it off.
@@AverageGuyDIY ok thanks, should I loosen up with a card first then when loosened a little bit take a screw driver to pry it off?
@@faazsiddiqui2796 Yes, The plastic is a little more durable then you think. It can withstand a little bit of pressure but It’s a delicate balance.
@@AverageGuyDIY I finished the process and my noises work now, thanks a lot! I’m ngl the black round cap was a lot harder to take off than you made it seem tho lmao.

For those who have this model or similar: Mine was dead, with no lights or display. I followed this gentleman’s strip down but when I looked in the top right hand corner, behind the grill, I could see a glass fuse but couldn’t find access to it by removing a panel, nor was I able to remove the grill. I ended up by cutting 3 bars off the front grill and was then able to remove the fuse which was glass and 20amps. (I knew the plastic fascia would cover over the cut grill) Tested it and it worked fine. Reassembly was straight forward. Thanks for giving me the confidence to attempt the repair.
where is this fuse again? I have the same issue no light no display. replaced the blown 70degree fuse and still no display
@@majareshe There is a grill in the top right hand corner of the microwave once you remove the top plastic cover. If you look through the grill you’ll see red white and yellow wires and next to the red wire you can just see the end of a glass fuse. I cut the bars with a dremmel and was able to replace the fuse. If I had your email I’d be able to send you a picture. I don’t know how to add a pic to this reply.
Thanks for the great info!
What kind of screws did you use, how many (or spacing)? Also, how did you create the bevels?
Unfortunately the video was created a long time ago, I can't fully remember. I do apologize.
Man you gotta be kiddin me! You are a Master at this. THANK YOU SIR!
Outstanding!
Thanks for the video! This is what I expected, but it's nice to have verification before diving into the unknown. 😊
Excellent! Look almost exactly like the job I’m doing, even the color. All the needed important info is there especially about looseness. No biography, just a quick slide show about your lifestyle. Very cool!
My luck I will drop the flippin screw
Haha!
Eazy money
Easy. Easier. Easiest to follow. Good job guys!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks man. Very helpful
Thanks for sharing! This is just what I was searching for... 🙏
Thank you, just watched this video and have now changed my speaker, took about 10 minutes. tips for anyone else - The clips can be a bit hard to prise off, I used 2 small screw drivers and slowly went round the edge. This fixed my parking sensor beep, the indicators ticks and the welcome tone. I got my speaker from eBay for about £25
Thanks a ton for this video. Have this exact microwave, and an internal fan would constantly be running with the door closed. Replacing the top interlock door switch fixed it for me.
What do you do at the top? Where it meets the soffit
You need to have some channel installed to slide it into, watch this video it may help a bit . ruclips.net/video/vvKK8kCtDwg/видео.html
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks. Very helpful!
How did you determine the speaker was bad? Did you test the signal to the speaker before you went thru the replacement?
The signal lights, Hazard lights, and door chimes stopped making sounds when in use. :)
@@AverageGuyDIY Okay. My wifes Sportage has the same issue. Just wondering if you tested the signal to the speaker before you bought the replacement. Seems like a pretty straight fwd swap out. Thanks for the video and the link to Amazon.
I ADORE how much info you could put into four minutes. Other videos take half an hour to say all this. (Although your Fishing at the intro was nonsequitur.)
YIKES! Sorry, man, but that's not even close to "Average Guy".
Haha!
Excellent, thank you. I'm fixing a hole where the AC used to be and couldn't quite figure out what I was doing wrong. This cleared things up.
thanks teacher, God blessing...
Fantastic video and channel, thank you !
Did you unplug the battery during this process??
Is that a yes?
@@Ovaheaa I just unplugged the leads to the old speaker, no need to disconnect battery. :)
@@AverageGuyDIY thank you so much. 😂
Wow straight to it!! Under 5 mins u Rawk!!
Awesome🥰
Hello. I have a question. Why my just installed siding has this bubbles ?
The only time I've heard of that is when the siding was nailed to firm to the structure. You must leave room when nailing so that the siding has room to expand and contract because of heating and cooling.
Excellent !
Can't wait for this to be done!
This is the best video/instructions I've seen explaining this. Thanks!
