We used this tune as our theme song in Florida for the Melbourne Big Band when I conducted it. John M. Hill, Canadian.

Interesting setup. Most American big bands put the bari sax to the far right of the sax section and here she is to the far left. I played this song often with an Air Force Jazz Band in the 70's. We got to work once with Sammy Nestico. His big band charts swing as hard as anyone's!

This big band sound takes me back to the late 1920's to the early 1950's! Brilliant music! Well done!

I played this under Bill Potts in the mid 70`s when he ran an afternoon jazz band at a 2-year college in Rockville, MD. He was a "cool cat" and had many great stories and jokes from his earlier days. This rendition has such a great, perfect, laid-back feel. I love it!

You guys should do rhapsody in blue by Gordon Goodwin or hunting wabbits

Not impressed. Too much tenor sax squawky sounds. Would've been nice for the arranger to include some nice flugelhorn work with much smoother softer sounds. Did not enjoy this treatment or arrangement -sorry. Patrick Williams arraignments usually much better than this.

seems the bass trombone player was forgotten, I played this song in high school and there was a bass trombone part scored for it, sadly I always looked for one and I'm not seeing one here, but the band still sounds fantastic! Thank you so very much for bringing these memories back 👍😉

Whoa, those eighth notes are almost straight in places. That's so hip. Probably shouldn't have panned the guitar so hard to the left though, it's a bit grating.
