I'm a pretty average guy. I go to college, I work, I do crime, and I like cars.
My car's pretty average, too. It's basically just a blue Golf with stock wheels, stock suspension, pretty much stock exhaust, and a just little ECU work done to it.
Don't expect anything good from this channel, because I certainly don't.

1996 Ford Escort LX 0-60, Exhaust Sound, Quick Race
Here's a short video to show off the sick custom exhaust I made and how blisteringly fast my Escort is.
The car has a muffler delete (which may have been a side effect of slamming into the ground going down a steep parking garage ramp rather quickly) and a custom exhaust tip I made with parts from AutoZone, a section of exhaust pipe from our parts car, and some Sawzall finesse.
It sounds like trash.
There's also a 0-60 pull, but let me give my excuses first:
-the car had 88hp when it was new (24 years ago)
-the video was shot at about 4,500 feet above sea level
-the car was on 175-width 12 year old tires
-it's really just a slow car. but it's quicker than a brand new Nissan Verga!
I also threw in...

What Does Cleaning 24 Years of Grime Look Like? - Project Rattles #2
Просмотров 1243 года назад
It's been a video long in the making (mostly because we've been obsessively working on making Rattles run right and behave like an actual car), but it's finally here! We shot this video back in early July, shortly after we got Rattles. So, four months later, I've finally gotten another dose of motivation, and the RUclips series is once again underway. In today's video, we clean up some of the n...

Once upon a time, there was a car. His name was Pablo; he was a Sunrise Red (pink) 1995 Ford Escort LX hatchback. Pablo Escortbar. He was a dear friend, even though he was probably the slowest thing in existence. Alright, I'll speak some English now. Some of you might be wondering, "why in the world would you want a '90s Ford Escort??" Long story short, one of my best friends had a pink Escort ...

EBC Redstuff Install and Comparison - Mk7 GTI Brake Pads
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 года назад
In this very average video, I try to install EBC Redstuff brake pads on my dad's Mk7 GTI without breaking anything. These brakes made a big difference on my Mk6 GTI, but will they feel any different than the Mk7's already great stock brake pads? Also, I might come across as a bit pessimistic, but I actually do want to hear any suggestions or questions you have! Follow me on Instagram! instagram...

Come along for the ride and see if I am able to fix my car or if I ruin it forever! If you're looking for a tutorial but can't figure out how to install a DV from this video, put down the plastic toolkit and leave this job to the "professionals," such as myself. Or just find a different video. (DISCLAIMER: I'm not a professional in any way, shape, or form. Not even close.) 0:51 Before (Broken D...
IE Stage 1 Mk6 GTI Canyon Drive
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.4 года назад
Somebody stole my car, attached a GoPro/external mic to it, and drove through a canyon like a maniac. Though they did slow down at times because there were other cars. It's kind of boring to watch. If anything, just try to enjoy the scenery and imagine that the car's moving faster. This is an older video from October 2019. I know the audio quality's crap, but please feel free to complain in the...
But Remember stock location goes between radiator and condenser is a hot sandwich ?
On the install, you should have loose fit the bolts until you had all of them in place including the ac bracket bolt. Then tighten to speck. But good install video.
I have them on mk4 gti. They bottom out easy. The rears have a strange thunk. Dont slam your car on these, ride quality is awful.
Yeah, they ended up being terrible lol. I actually got so fed up with the awful ride quality that I stopped driving my GTI almost completely. I have Bilstein coilovers on my BMW E91 and they're fantastic. DEFINITELY worth the extra cost over these garbage coils.
Hows the ride? I installed S1 also, and start to knock when cold. All bushing are new except control arm
I don't know why but it kind of sounds like my dad's ford fiesta st for some reason...
did you need an alignment after installing mine shakes really bad sometimes on one side but everything is tight and looks good so im thinking i went so low and little bit of camber and tow may be the cause
An alignment might help. Also, a pretty well known issue with GTIs is some shaking/vibration under hard acceleration at higher speeds
Thank you Man! I just changed my brakes and your video was so helpful!
Could I get the link to the one you got?
Do the lube sachets come with the pads?
Are you running stage 2 tune?
its your car still working good??? after stage 1 ??
Yeah, it runs great! I've had it on stage 2 for almost 3 years (~20k miles) and have had no issues. Well, I had some no-start issues when I was on the IE Stage 2 crackle tune, but regular stage 2 has been great. I'm currently at 136k miles (timing chain was replaced at 110k miles) and it's been my most reliable car, lol.
I like people who don't show their faces rather the object of the video like you and ChrisFix
Sorry, I thought you said you ordered a part and it came three days later. How did you say, if you want parts fast and three days in the same sentence? In the UK we order parts and they come the next day. Where do you live?
Did you still have the CEL afterwards and did you just clear it or did it go away?
I replaced mines with aftermarket breakpads (don't remember the brand) and they make a cluck noise when I go into R. Did you noticed any clunking noises with these EBC breakpads?
To your defense brute force is the answer 96% of the time.
Well there goes that dv too
I have copper wire sticking out my sinsor do u know if there’s a reason someone would do that or maybe for connection but it loops thru both wires
Hey man I was wondering on how you got the snapper sensor back on!
Do steel brake lines necessary when upgrade pads?
To see some difference, you need at least stage 2 ecu tune. Also you should see difference with tune in high performance driving situations - high speed, high rpm or track usage. With decent tune, better intercooler with less pressure drop, would increase HP and torque figures.
Yes. Though it doesn't really increase HP/torque, it just helps prevent those figures from dropping when things start to get hot.
@@averagegti figures being the numbers looking better overall, which they will with better cooling.
Did you installed hub space? And how long is it??
Revision D is prone to leak still as its plastic. Revision G the one you removed is still the best at holding boost better and after 20-30k you may need to replace. Here in the UK top tfsi tuners use revision G
So I am confused, do you not need to swap the caliper carrier bolts when doing pads?
T
U
For the rears. To lower the rear. The further you go from the base the lower the car right?
Do you know what the ride height would be if you set them as high as they go? Im thinking of coilovers but but my wheels are 18x8 et34 which is pretty aggressive and don’t want to have a lot of rubbing issues. Really just looking to get rid of most of the fender gap.
Sorry for the late reply, the max height is definitely higher than stock if you wanna go full monster truck lol
@@averagegti Thanks for the reply haha. I have since moved on from the GTI but appreciate you getting to this regardless.
Where on earth did you get the dumb idea that this is a race car ?? It's an extremely well designed car that lasts and lasts for decades even the interior and the power seat belts continue to be as when they rolled out of the line But it is not made for useless races
Shit i turned my ltd into a fuck it street car that corners like a dream
Same thing with the kids my age that race the honda civics and Toyota corolla I reckon. It's just what we do.
People have been modding cars forever, it's his perogative
Ok boomer
I have a 07 gti and I don’t no how to check to see if there is any power getting to my diverter valve how would I go about finding out I need some help
Is it just a muffler delete or does it have any special modifications to it?
You also have loose wastegate. It can be heard at 5:10-5:14.
how to solve this? with the clip?
Does it pull harder with the new valve
Imo...da 1st wack, busted up d.v sounded better den da newer revised 1. Go figure??!😵
I'm no expert or anything, but if you have a CEL and you hear an audible change in your engine, perhaps doing high speed pulls isn't the best idea! 🤷♂️
Lmao all these guys commenting great job... The anti seize lube is for the caliber pins you clown
I'm afraid there's not a caliber in sight. nice Pontiac though bud
@@averagegtiswipe to text isn’t so slick. Lol. Regardless is this a parody video of some sort? The lube is for the slide pins. Once in a while a dab inside the bracket clips that the pads slide into helps with installing.
Need them links to all parts
Definitely getting these now, what exhaust setup do you have?
catless downpipe and stock everything else
Did you get the extra bolts and other hardware from Ecs tuning as well? Or where can I find them?
I'm pretty sure ECS, Urotuning, and ShopDAP all have suspension hardware kits with all the nuts and bolts you need. It was like $60 for the kit, and then I ordered the different mounts from each of the 3 websites, just kinda based on whatever was cheapest.
Lol the see of volkswagon shit engineering. Their slogan should be "Das Shit"
you clearly have never worked on anything American or British before
@@averagegti Lol. Using American and British vehicles as a benchmark to make VW appear like it is reliable is hardly a good look. What is the reliability like when compared to Lexus ?? You have to admit there are too many basic fundamental issues with these VW engines. They are pretty crap for reliability, just saying, no shade.
@@TheAllEngineering Well, I mean, I haven't had any problems with my engine (I later found out that the diverter valve wasn't broken, it was just disconnected). In fact, nobody in my family has had any problems with their VWs, and we've had 7 different VWs from 2002 till now. They're great cars, but like any other car worth mentioning, they need to be maintained. Also, they're actually engineered very well. The layout and design of all the drivetrain components is very tidy and logical, and they're really easy to work on. American and British cars, on the other hand, are disorganized and carelessly assembled without much thought to how things go together.
How’s the dust compared to OEM? Thnx
There's definitely more dust than OEM, especially at first. Once they're broken in it's not too bad.
I feel your pain with working too long and missing steps... I did a bunch of work a few weeks back and the last thing I did was install new EBC Red Stuff brake pads (per your video) and was breezing through it.. when I thought I was all done I realized I had one too many brake pads left over..... no one to hate but ourselves lol. Another good video man.
Can't believe you have less that 100 subscribers. Great video, well done from uk 👍
When is part 3?
Ok this was great, car looks awesome and I think I found my next mod! Thanks!
Was it really broken or was it just unplugged?
I think it was just unplugged🤫🤫But my brother put the old one on his Mk5 and it only lasted a few weeks, so it was definitely on its way out
Think we can set up a race with the e30?
Man, I've been trying to race that thing since day 1.
