I'm liking the essay part of this video. But the footage does not match the topic of discussion what so ever. Example: while talking about Silens you showed footage of Alva. and then about 10 minutes later you talk about the Quen while showing footage of Silens. If you had swapped the two clips used the subject on screen would have been related to the subject of discussion. Likewise durring the section on ted faro you show fottage of petra....when you could just use footage of Aloy exploring the FAS building in ZD or Thebes in FW. Not trying to be a jerk here, but the dissonance between the subject on screen and the subject of discussion is realy jarring.

There still isn’t a game as beautiful as forbidden west. Like wow. Dialogue sequences with random npcs look better than story cutscenes in other AAA games.

About the difference in hair color between Aloy and Beta/Elisabet: I doubt it's some kind of secret story reason to be revealed in game 3, and more of a subtle nod to the difference in their upbringing/lifestyle. Prolonged exposure to UV rays tends to lighten hair color, and since Aloy grew up mostly training outdoors and then running around the world trying to fix GAIA, it'd make sense for her hair to look brighter than the workaholic scientist Sobeck's, not to mention Beta who was cooped up on the Odyssey (and its artificial lighting) for her entire life. That's just my take on it, though

The feeling I got from Faro is, even though he didn't say it, is he erased human knowledge so they wouldn't know it was his fault that the human race was annihilated, not so they wouldn't be "tainted" by previous knowledge, which makes him an even worse person. Edit: you brought up this exact point 😅 I think the one slight stumble forbidden west had was it really quickly brushed over Faro with him being off screen and his death being quick and relatively light, considering that he is THE big bad of the entire series.

Sylens didn't try to kill Aloy. He didn't know the Zeniths had Beta. He assumed they would capture her, not kill her, "thus removing you[Aloy] from the equation" in his own words. Love the video!! Great work!

I don't think Sylens was trying to kill Aloy in Forbidden West. He even says she should surrender, he assumes they'll never kill a clone of Elisabeth because that's too valuable and seems to have no idea that they have their own clone of Elisabeth at that point in time. Which makes sense, because Sylens gets his informations from Hades, and Hades doesn't know about Beta. She wasn't even born when the transmission was sent. It's a small tidbit and he knew this was a dangerous gamble so it doesn't change your greater points about him anyway, but I figure I'd point it out although I probably wasn't the only one to do so.
