Canucks barely won last night against one of the worst teams in the league. If it wasn't for Silovs they would have lost. Petterson gets a goal and all the fans start chanting, but this team is a long way from where it should be, especially Petterson.

So Petterson got a goal last night --- that's good but it's a long ways from where he should be. Obviously he's a fan favorite and they all start chanting "Petey Petey", but I'm not going to be impressed until he gets up in the Top 20 in the NHL League Leaders list. That's where he should be with the huge money he gets paid, not way down now at #154. He is the 5th highest paid player after Matthews, McDavid, Mackinnon, and Panarin but he is definitely NOT an elite player like those guys. He's a good player, that's all and his contract was a big mistake. He might make the Top 50 by playoffs time, but I seriously doubt it.

All kidding aside, what an anemic response from a team that should have found energy from 2 big moments. Return of Daks and the kid scores his first... and we flatlined. It's harder to support a team that doesn't look like it's trying. Yes, expectations are higher. But respect has to be earned. You can lose respect and still make money. They used to call that selling out. Now selling out is good. Even in a loss you should make your opponent earn it. All they made was money last night.

"Apologize to the fans" and "Patrick Roy outcoached me"? Tocchett is admitting that he's not up to the job and maybe it's time for a new coach of the Vancouver Canucks. When this current team shows up and mostly plays their B game, and last night their C game, obviously Tocchett isn't able to get them motivated.

It would have been nice if Tochet acknowledged how good Petey was last night. He was one of the only solid players from the team both offensively and defensively. All he does is rag on Petey when he's bad but never offers him any positive reinforcement. No wonder he has confidence issues.
