How to change the oil on a Honda Jazz
Greetings from a German who´s in his 50s and bought a Honda CB125F as his first motorcycle this summer - in white 😉 Your videos are interesting and entertaining, thank you for the effort you put into them - and always drive safely!
Great to hear from you! Thanks for watching. I'd love to visit Germany again some time. Now there's a brilliant idea, Köln is only a few hours further away than Paris.
@@shephardphoto7352 That really sounds like a great idea and would definitely be worth the trip. I could see myself traveling to Scotland again sometime. I still have fond memories of it.
Travelling by P&O highly questionable in view of their industrial policies and relations!
Oh dear I didn't know anything about that. Reading now, thanks.
Great video, I think I have a glove issue! I have a full bag for life of them. I’m kinda obsessed 😂with
Watched the series really interesting. I was curious about your total riding time, breaks and costs of fuel and camping etc. also a list of your equipment? Really great content well done 👌
Thanks! Will definitely get into that in the follow up video.
Nice presentation, subscribed.
I have to ask , as a rider who is thinking of thinking of making trips into Europe what is the disc you are putting on your bike?
Disk lock you mean? It's the Kovix KD6
Apologies for my lack of clarity. The purple disc in the tax disc holder
@@youcanadventure2 Sorry, obvious now you mention it! It's a Crit'air sticker which is needed for Paris, to do with emissions. There are details on the previous video.
@@richardshephard I have applied though the website. I will have a look through your back catalog
Stick to 1080p my eyes can’t see a difference between the two 🧐
That's what I was hoping you'd say. I'm sure I will - it's a lot of data and slower editing for not much benefit.
I thought that this motorcycle was not suitable for long distances because it was air-cooled. How many hours can you travel continuously with this motorcycle for a healthy ride?
It depends how fast you're going, or how hard the engine's working. I would not recommend going at the bike's top speed for long. But at 50mph I'm pretty sure it could go all day. It did, in fact!
@@richardshephard Çok teşekkür ediyorum.
Good introduction to gloves video. As for 4k - I think it's only worth it when it's bright and sunny. 4k seems to make colours pop then. When it's overcast maybe not so much.
Thanks! I’ll have to do a comparison next time it’s sunny!
Great advice there Richard. I like your inner glove idea but where are the gloves of power? One glove to rule them all! Personally I go two pairs like you and use heated grips for winter : one pair mid-weight and goretex -lined, so waterproof and breathable, for most of the year and mesh for those hot summer days. In the good old days I just wore a pair of leather gauntlet-type Frank Thomas Aquatex all year round and lumped it. Sometimes I think we have too much choice!
Good point, heated grips make it a lot easier. Still thinking about those. Not sure why I’m so resistant to fitting them.
Loved this wee trip to Paris takes me back to the 1990s when me and the wife came from Scotland and went to Disney World Paris on a Honda MTX125 ! You don't need a big bike to do a big trip especially France with such slow speeds on rural routes! Your on holiday to look around see all that's new to you and taste local cuisines. Keep the trips coming try the NC500 perfect for a 125 on the wee roads!
NC500 is on the bucket list for sure. Thanks for watching!
Found this to be a very well made and informative source of information, thankyou
Thanks! My rules for mechanics videos are, no waffle, put the camera on a tripod, and always show the difficult part.
Well done mate, I’m an Englishman down under running the same bike, can now do the valve adjustments myself having watched this video.
Hi Richard, do you hear a noise with vibration at high revs or have you experienced something like this before?
Hard to say. It's a small engine spinning at high speed so there's bound to be vibration. At 60 mph the bars are vibrating a bit.
@@richardshephard Thank you for your answer. I bought it recently and the vibration was a bit too much compared to my previous yamaha, I think this is how the cb125f works.
Roads are OK but all that cross banding gets lethal in the rain.
I’ve been enjoying these videos, thank you. It’s lovely seeing somebody enjoying the French countryside as so many RUclipsrs seem intent on blasting through the north of France to get somewhere else. You are also showing how a small motorcycle can be perfect for touring. My own ‘touring’ motorcycle is small by most people’s standards being a CB500X but it’s the best touring bike I have ever owned. I’ve done a bit of touring recently on an elderly Suzuki DR125 including a weekend away at the Millevaches weekend, camping at 1000m in the Massif Central in December. Unfortunately(?) I gave the DR125 to a friend only last week, I bought a Voge 300 Rally last December and couldn’t justify having the three bikes. I now ride with it not on it. 🙂 Thanks again.
Thanks, I do like the look of the CB500X. Funny, to me that would seem like a big bike. Could you comfortably carry two on it? I need to be able to take the Mrs. on these trips some day.
Super
That priority from the right is just stupid.
Subbed.
it couldn't have been hard to design a box to not interfere with the indicators, having to remove the indicators is just lazy designing
It's such a niche product - custom shaped for a specific motorbike, so little competition.
Hi, hope all is well. If it's convenient could you post the model number( or identification number or serial number) for the sump washer and oil filter O ring in the description? I don't know which one to order online.
I got all the genuine parts from this site. I think the sump washer is #13 on this diagram: www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/125-MOTO/CBF/2022/CBF125MM/Engine/CRANKCASE/103400/E_15/1/45503 and I think the oil filter O ring is #14 on here: www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/125-MOTO/CBF/2022/CBF125MM/Engine/RIGHT-CRANKCASE-COVER/103400/E_06/1/45503 but check for yourself in case I made a mistake.
Really enjoyed watching this trip! It’s nice to take a break from relentlessly watching figure 8 and U turn videos for my upcoming Mod 1 😂
Best of luck. Keep your head up and visibly look where you're going, even though you're on a closed piece of tarmac with nothing to hit but the person assessing you.
We stopped at that "motel" at 11:14 en route to spain - i can recommend it if you find yourself in that locale again - restaurant was ok as well.
What phone mount are you using? Incredible video series enjoyed every Mile of your adventure,
This one: www.amazon.co.uk/Grefay-PB03A-Universal-Motorcycle-Smartphone-Black/dp/B01N6M0I9M but it's really nothing special. I intended to use the tank bag, but the phone kept overheating which wasn't good. I've had no problems with vibration, but when you do it's too late, so I would like to get a quad lock at some point.
So glad you decided to do this video! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Great video thanks, I have the same bike and love it, nice to think that it can do a long tour, keep it shiny side up
Thanks! Yes it's a very reliable bike and can do long distances, but I wouldn't recommend trying to keep it (or any bike) at top speed all day long, that's all. So 50-60 mph and we're quite happy.
Smashing series. Great audio too 😂. Very entertaining and, yes, refreshing. I'm coming over to Blighty very soon. Heading for Bedfordshire as first stop. Normally I trudge round the M25 but a Londoner friend said to take Blackwall tunnel. There seems to be an abundance of roadworks though. And I'm not very brave... basically 😬
Going through London didn't really feel like London because it's just a dual carriageway that goes right the way through. You're not really in the city centre. Rush hour is hard on the clutch hand though so I'd avoid that. Thanks for watching!
Welcome home ! It’s been great to see your journey ! And by the way , you don’t always talk crap lol (you’re saying ) ! Look forward to your next journey ride safe mate .
My opinion is…the music adds nothing
what was the mpg over the whole trip
About 155 mpg, which is typical for me. Maybe a little lower because it's heavier than usual.
@@richardshephardBrilliant.
The wee CB125F did a marvellous job. It's a Honda, is good ja ?
Ay, very prood.
Excellent video series Richard
It's been great following your trip and I look forward to seeing where you get to next! 👍
Hello, I loved the series on the trip to France. Main reason for watching is the bike. I miss my Benelli tnt 125 which took me round Holland and Belgium. Touring on small bikes is far more interesting. Thanks again.
The Benelli looks fun. I know - when I consider a bigger bike I always think, but could I keep this one forever too?
@@richardshephard you should if you can.
I just want to say I really appreciate your videos. It's a nice breath of fresh air to watch you journeying from some other creators. Your editing style is very snappy and makes for an engaging watch and you're a very wholesome person to watch on these vids.
Thanks! Hope it's not just because I'm new - give it a year and I'll be sponsored by Quad Lock or whoever. No it's just fun to take simple action cameras or the iphone camera, and not worry about settings. Editing takes a while, but it is fun too. I'm still considering the mix of travels and maintenance videos. Next week, what motorcycle gloves to buy, then after that, brake fluid. Thanks for watching.
How long have you ridden it in a single stretch.
Longest day on this trip was about 200 miles. Longest I've ever done was 230. In summer with long days you can do a lot, but if the weather was bad it'd be a bit miserable so I wouldn't count on being able to do that much.
Thanks for this series Rich I have really enjoyed following your progress. I bought a CB125F just like yours for my daughter and found your channel for your servicing videos. I have a couple of middleweight Hondas 600/750 but must admit to really enjoying riding the CB125F. Lovely little bike. I have been taking my daughter to a local disused Airfield to ride and practice on so we have done many miles 2 up in the CB125F. I am gonna miss it when she is on the road herself. Thanks again for the well made and entertaining videos, I look forward to more of your content. Regards Rob.
That's great to hear. Hope you're teaching her the servicing! I took my test on the CB650R and that felt like a monster. I keep wondering if I need a bigger bike but there's so much to love about the CB125F. I'm changing the brake fluid in a couple of weeks - stay tuned!
Enjoyed that thanks Richard. Going home is indeed part of the journey, sometimes the best part. Wise choice staying out of anything political.
Thanks! Got a couple of gear and servicing videos coming up next, so hope you'll stay tuned.
Cheers mate, done my first oil change following your video. Easy. Will come back for advice on the next thing I don’t know how to do 😂
Glad to hear it, thanks! Let me know what the thing is if I haven't done it yet.
there is 5 areas in france called Vernon i have been to 4 of them the last is south east of poitiers on A40 i think
Brilliant video as usual! Loved the crazy turns
Merci..👌🇨🇵
Very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your trip.😊
I've just discovered your videos. It's a nice change for the presenter not to be embarrassed at trying to pronounce French correctly and talk to yourself in as much French as you know. The 125 seems to make remarkable time for it's size and weight. 😁 I'm now going to find the other three . A tout a l'heure.
Thanks! I think we should always try with the language. It irritates me when people say “Bonjour” and then laugh as if they’d made a clever joke
I heard about 150 people met during life, not 1000. Majority peple lived in small groups without changing teritorry. Who knows?
ok Richard your vids are better than Netflix..so I canceled it Hope that more roadtrip are planned 🤣🤣 thx for sharing
Brilliant, thanks! Can’t get on as many European tours as I’d like but I’ve got a couple of day trips in mind. And two gear/maintenance videos cued up already for coming Mondays.
Very very enjoyable Tres bien M'sieur On y vas!
Thanks for bringing us along again Richard.
Hi!! I thinking to install this pack to my Honda CB125F 2022, and...you has done a good work. I had a problem when I bought the motorcycle, and it fell to the ground when parked in the wind. Two side covers on the left broke. The original parts cost €900, so I recommend installing the protective bars at the front, they cost about €150 and you can save yourself a lot of trouble. Your videos are great. Thank you so much. From Alicante, Spain, greetings!
I see the Givi TN1184, looks like a good idea. Plus another place to put an action camera. Thanks for the tip!
Love your videos. Really impressed how you dealt with the riding in Paris. Made my head spin with all the riding on the other side!!!
Thanks! It was OK, I tried to think about nearside and offside instead of left and right, which helps a lot. I think it'd be harder in a car.
Thanks good Video 👍🏻💪🏻👍🏻
