    you can actually use euclidean division algorithm to solve for number 1 lol

    how is 441 modulo 26 = -1? isnt it 25?

    • @StemlabPH
      @StemlabPH 11 дней назад

      Hi, they are part of the same equivalence class. Hence, they are congruent. You can try to read more about congruence here: www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-science/cryptography/modarithmetic/a/congruence-modulo

    • @deronbutorange
      @deronbutorange 4 дня назад

      441 can become 25 mod 26, and 25 mod 26 is -1

    • @2309cora

      @deronbutorange 25 mod 26 is 25 ?

    • @rojanjacob1
      @rojanjacob1 2 дня назад

      when dealing with modulos like this where a is n-1, a will always be congruent to -1

    • @deronbutorange
      @deronbutorange 2 дня назад

      @@2309cora 25 (mod 26) is -1 bc it doesn't have any remainders BUT it is missing 1 more number to become divisible by 26 so yeah

    • @StemlabPH
      @StemlabPH 28 дней назад

      product of the roots is simply c/a; and sum of the roots is -b/a ... assuming we write out the quadratic in the form ax^2 + bx +c = 0.

    is there really no way to optimize the process further...? going through all those values of Ps and Qs seem tedious

    • @StemlabPH
      @StemlabPH 27 дней назад

      If you find a more optimal method, we'd love to hear about it. Thus far, this or roughly similar derivations are what we seem to have stumbled on. Remember, this is the last question of a 3 hr paper, so expect some potential tedious work - where one has to be quite careful.

    Hello sir! I would just like to ask how did you get the value of A in question number one. And how'd you get the formula? thanks!

    • @StemlabPH
      @StemlabPH 2 месяца назад

      c/(bc+1), has to fractional - ie. less than 1. Hence, the only value A can take is 3.

    Slight correction at 1:47 ... not "a has to be divisible by b" but "a has to have a shared (non 1) factor with b"... but they are relatively prime.

    Just a slight error we noticed. @6.53 when we plugged in 54, there was a mistake in the inequalities. It should be: 14/55 > 1/4 > 13/55 which cross multiplies to 56>55 and 55>52. Sorry about that.
