Burnout and the Relationship with Acoustic Perception and Personality Traits in UK Office Workers
With Paige Hodsman, Brunel University, and Concept Developer (Offices) at Saint-Gobain Ecophon
This pilot study explored the relationships between acoustic perceptions, personality traits and burnout. It builds on previous findings but uniquely brings into one study variables that had not previously been compared. Both home and traditional office workspaces were considered.
Overall, the findings put forward a strong argument for considering both acoustic perceptions and personality traits when assessing the causes and implications of burnout and the associated costs to individuals, businesses and society. This is particularly pertinent in light of the recent changes towards hybrid working....
