Scanned and Color Corrected by Kineko Video One of the selected Krazy Kat cartoons to be colorized by Fred Ladd's Color System Inc and International Arts Production in South Korea in the 70's with a new soundtrack as well. The magnetic sound is muffled in some parts so there's not much I could do for that unfortunately.

This is a big win for the British animation community!
It's kinda crazy how much of the soul and snappyness of the original animation the korean studio destroyed. Still very important preservational effort to scan this.
Τhat was actually a pretty neat cartoon! Something like if the late 30s Fleischers got 40s Rod Scribner.
The truth is that the explorer looks like a Tezuka character specifically like Shunsaku Ban.
thanx
Wake up babe, new fully restored Bubble and Squeak cartoon just dropped.
Love to see it
Don't forget about Funfair (1947).

So that is the song that Uncle Fester covered.
Was it in color?
Brianna Shead and Brianna Shead Jr
What is the song name 😮
Weird how the mom rejects the "ugly" dino because he's the same color she is.
I couldn't make it through this movie as a kid. The blizzard scene was too harrowing, and, even at that age, I felt too sad for poor Bert, and I legitimately thought he had run off into the snow to commit suicide by exposure.
Porky was the first known character because of the stuttering but they should’ve done more shorts with the other characters as school kids because to me they’re underrated. Oliver Owl’s snobbery and arrogance could’ve opened more doors in shorts especially with Porky Pig in particular. In the comics Oliver Owl was friends with Henery Hawk so Henery Hawk and Oliver Owl should’ve been in a short together with Foghorn Leghorn.
Never seen this before! Great cartoon! Did Mel Blanc work for every studio?
Not every studio. There was Fleischer/Famous Studios and Terrytoons.
Woody Woodpecker for the first 2 seconds
Cute cartoon
isn't that the toby the pup song?
Yes, yes it is. Joe de Nat, who composed the Toby the Pup theme, started composing for Columbia after RKO/Winkler stopped producing Toby the Pup cartoons. de Nat continued to work for Columbia until he was replaced with Paul Worth and Eddie Kilfeather. A handful of 1939-1941 Columbia cartoons had this same theme.
Is there a reason why the colors are so dark? Is that just how the colors are in this special
@@d-manthecaptain1382 Because it's just the raw scan itself. Just kept it the way it was.

Is this 2 strip technicolor?
@vintagetvandexciting ok. It looks like it
@@garfeldi_gaming it's 3 stirp Technicolor
Peace and love, man! A Columbia cartoon that's actually good, you don't get that very often.

Krazy Kat is actually a blue cat.
This cartoon is not listed on Halas and Batchelor Collection.
These were terrible as was the 1940 live action movie. Capp was a brilliant satirist and social.commentator. However he had a tendency to merchandise to virtually anyone who bothered to ask. It's a product of growing up poor.
Better version, more stable picture.
What studio animated this?
That is the best yodeling I have ever heard.
i love old cartoons
The lyrics always confused me. Were the 30s so strict that if you wore a cap as a collage student, you'd be expelled? Or am I just looking too deep?
"Don't forget to bring back culture" lol
Love the dreamy storybook tone of this little adventure! It reminds me of surreal old comics like Little Nemo in Slumberland, The Kin-Der Kids, or Prince Errant, where quirky characters would be on an endless journey through bizarre places. And the fantastic cartooning & oddball humor ("We hate you!!") fit really well in that style!
Are there any more cartoons released under the dutch distributor real films out there?
Which year
Wow, this is *extremely* appealing animation! The shapes, the movement, the acting, all terrific. It's fascinating to see the blend of classic cartoon influences while it also builds on them & shows unique personality. It's crazy that something so well-made would wind up being so obscure & underrated. Truly a hidden gem! Thanks a lot for sharing this! Edit: One of many details I love is how these chickens often do bird-like movements (especially head movements) that you rarely see in cartoons. The balance between stylized rubbery cartooning and naturalistic animal anatomy is very smart stuff!
