Deep Bedding Compost

We had mulch into the chicken coop and instead of clean out the floor of the coop we just keep adding mulch (we get free mulch from a local tree company). If it starts to smell just add mulch. Then we sift out the fine composted material and add it to the top of our raised beds. We let the compost rest for about a month and half before adding it to our raised beds. Supoosed to be 1 rooster for every 10 hens . How old are the rooster's is thier fertility up to par ?? To many hens to breed could lower sperm count possibly quialty of sperm. Just a thought.

Hi Joshua, I need help. I bought an incubator from this brand but it doesn't heat up and it doesn't come with a manual. Would you be so kind as to show me your manual up close, please?

I had a broody hen for a while and let her alone (she was feisty)😂 but she quit.. I saved 3 eggs without cracks and forgot about them until the end of the day (busy days) still put them back in my incubator and candled them last night and they are still progressing and alive I found out so I don't know if losing power is such a contributor... Bc mine where cold when I found them (left them at first to see if the hen would return, she didn't) moved them inside, forgot what I was doing for a while and still saw movement so I put them back in and now they've grown and look amazing.. I also dry hatch bc wet is a nightmare and never have good results on fertilization or hatching...

I am so mad I didn't research this methode before. We started with our first row of incubating. From 12 only 2 hatched amd 2 died before hatching. A very low rate and discouraging. We ordered another bunch of eggs and did the ae thing amd now I think it was due to the high humidity. We have 2 incubators but can't really fix the humidity. We are also not at home all the time because of working. My second bunch is 11 days old. I want to make the switch if possible now before the majority of my chicks dies. Is it possible?

On my 4th hatch in one of the single deck units. I've found that the factory settings are not correct when it comes to actual temperature inside the incubator. It gets as high as 105 degrees inside. I've lowered it to monitor with the 2 digital thermometer hygrometers inside the incubator. I'm finding this issue with all 4 of the different incubators I've owned.

The reason the thermometer temp is sometimes recommended to be slightly higher than 99.5°F is because the centre of the egg needs to be at 99.5°F (37.5 C)..... and still air incubators have slightly different temps in different height levels of the incubator.

This post may be of help to a lot of people. I wish I could tell you in plain English about my eBooks but (yt) or (the powers that be) would delete this post if I did. So as you read this you Can do a bit of detective work to find them. (March 2023) I got a Little Giant Incubator and thought I’d give it a go. We already have chickens but they are getting old now and so we thought to hatch some new ones. More about the Incubator: I only got the incubator and the egg turner as there was No fan kit available to go with it where I bought it. I also got a cheaper Thermometer than the Little Giant brand and That Was A Mistake! I couldn’t read it well through the windows! I went back and got the Little Giant brand Thermometer, and that one is EASY to see! I don’t have money for one of these fancy remote control Thermometers that you can read outside the unit, but I’ll make do just fine without. After working with the system for a good long time, I finally got it right. I found that at a setting on the Instrument Panel of 105.8, [over time] I got a steady reading from the Thermometer (at egg level) of 99.5, I also have 1 red plug pulled out by the Instrument Panel. As AmeriKa crumbles, and with, “The Deliberate Poisoning of Earth,” it’s more important than ever, right NOW, to get your own food supply. And then when you have your own food supply, You have to Protect it! And just like, “The Problem Eliminators,” You have to find ways to see to your own family’s safety! After all the destruction that is yet to come upon earth because of the Wickedness of some, we will have a New Civilization to build! And we together Can and Will make it even better than “The First Civilization of Earth,” ever was. So just utilize my name and some of these Titles to find me and my writings which can also help you to find some Sanity in our current world that has gone mad. My Fellow Americans, Take Care!

The simplest solution to the potential power outage problem might be a Buddy Heater. Safe indoors. The small one is good for a small room. I have it on hand in case I need it in an outage to try to get clean in a bathroom.

They're not really clean. An algae eater might be, but goldfish are the largest producers of ammonia. They're carp. You're essential just letting fish produce a lot of waste in your animals water??

Okay fish only need about 15 to 20 minutes to acclimate. leaving them in the bag with their own waste for 24 hours is torture to their scale and eyes. If you're going to use them in the stock tank you still have to clean out their waste so the fact that you get fresh water from the gutters is a good thing so you don't have to do water changes but you do have to clean out their waste. I can burn their scales and their eyes.

Hey. Texas here. I didn't look at the date on the video. Hope you are still alive for this question. I'm fixing to put 3 feeder fish in a 200 gallon metal tank. How did it workout for you? @@leighacreasey9348 Hi! I don't know if you've researched your answer already. I'm saying this in a goldfish-keeping manner, but 3 feeder fish will not be enough for your 200gal. A good rule of thumb is to have 1-2 feeders per 10 gallons of water. Goldfish create A LOT of waste, so it's better to start with 1 per gal and if you need more you can add more. Make sure they have a little shade (like some rocks or a hollow container), especially here in texas, because they won't survive the heat and even less in a metal tank outdoors. Hope this helps!

Well I live in between San Antonio and Austin. I don’t have filtration in the tank and gets very dirty. Muddy in fact. I do not have cattle. I just wanted some little goldfish. I have only three comet goldfish. Maybe if I had more goldfish it would have stayed clean. I use a siphon to clean the tank. I have some lily pads in the tank. And the fish have survived two winter. But I have a raised bed around the cattle trough with dirt because I was scared they would freeze to death in the winter. It does get around 27 degrees sometimes.

Right with you on that! Being a keeper of a reef tank and several freshwater tanks, fish waste can lead to ammonia! Sure, they may eat algae, but all the waste those fish are producing is now stagnating in the trough and being drunk by livestock. Pretty nasty for the animals that drink it, and not great for the fish to be living in a tough without some water flow, and will cook or freeze depending on the weather.

Hey Josh, thank you so much for the video! Like you, I didn't know what the heck I was doing with it lol! Tonight is day seven. I removed the lid to candle eggs and then put it back on. The heat and humidity both came back to normal quickly. The exclamation mark is lit up and it is alarming. The temp is set at 100 and it is reading 100. The humidity is set at 50 and it is reading 85. I assume that is a low humidity setting because that is what it has been set at for the past 7 days and never alarmed. I moved some eggs away from the sensor hanging down. I made sure the lid was on correctly I replaced the styrofoam and I even unplugged it for a second hoping to reset it. That didn't work either. Can you help me, has yours ever done this? Please and thank you.

Try setting up your temp. Inside at exactly 39 C on top of the eggs. Humidity should be at 50 to 60 from day 1 to 18 with or without water depending what is your natural Humidity where you live.on day 19 to 21 raise your Humidity 60 to 70 goodluck partner. Mine only in day 2.I'm also using a still air incubator here in Philippines godbless
