For the big boy get two sets of four wheel bogies some to put in the middle of the bogies the glue them then boom a eight wheeled base ive done that before if you ever need help ask me ive worked with custom wooden trains i even made a ten wheeled base for a qj locomotive my favorite Chinese locomotive

Hey wooden railway customs I want to tell you something big boy 4005 actually crashed during April 27, 1953 when big boy 4005 was pulling 67 freight cars but there was a shepherd man and then ask a Union pacific rail car and The shepherd man asked the crew of the union pacific rail car to help His sheep get across the rails so The crew switch the points but didn’t know that 4005 was coming up but then when they saw it it was too late big boy 4005 came off the rails at 50 mph and then broke the rails the first 18 freight cars piled up on each other do Union Pacific driver of the rail car was fired 4005 was repaired and then sent to the Forney Transportation museum
