I'd slam 50-60 dollars on this game. If more game devs took the approach of what Muse Dash, Arcaea and Cytus did, I'd be complaining about rhythm game prices less. Quite frankly, a few years ago I had a video planned along the titles of "Rhythm Game Prices...(Un)reasonable?" What Naoki/UNLIMITED STUDIO did was absolutely generous, giving us a few months to unlock and play just about every song while experiencing this absolute mindscrew of a story, but to have it offline (or the pipe dream that someone made a private server) would be the based Naoki move. If this was ever re-released for iOS, granted Japanese studios are making paid offline editions (Animal Crossing Village, MEGAMAN X DiVE etc.), I can see this being on the very expensive side. However, the only conflict -(by cranky vs siromaru)- that's preventing that from happening is licenses. Unlike console, mobile platforms are very active, and so copyrights and the like tend to be very different whereas you essentially own the game when it's physical and not... uh, made by Ubisoft. The closest we have is DeltaBeats, which is a free non-profit release part of Naoki's yet again inactive series CrossxBeats. I think this is like, the third rebranding of the gameplay? Anyways, there's actually a song that pays tribute to SEVEN's CODE, and the cool thing is you can import a VRoid Studio model and have your own V-Tuber play in the background, granted it feels super... uncanny.

I originally recorded all the gameplay on the very month the game was set to sunset permanently on June 2022. However, I procrastinated a whole ton over the course of the year, and after several crashes with my editor (stay as far away as you can from Hitfilm), switching to Davinci Resolve halfway through, and lot of tested patience, I was finally able to present this product. I would totally make a tutorial on any sort of private server setup, but that's just a pipe dream.

I wish I was still playing it... Delta Beats is the closest you'll get with the Chaos gameplay. Free to play, even supports VRoid models! Unless someone has made a private server like with what people did with DJMAX Technika Q, we can only enjoy what we have of its existence.

I'm honestly really hoping Naoki finds a publisher that can invest a lot into his CrossXBeats idea. It's crazy that he made such a unique concept but they never last more than a few years. Rest in Piece this game, the story was outstanding, the aesthetics got me hooked, and the OST was absolutely my cup of tea. I still laugh that he's in Pump It Up and EZ2ON now, an absolute middle finger to KONMAI.

Thanks for the compliment! The PARANOiA remix had a certain energy to it which really drew me to appreciate old school trance and rave songs, topped off with the jungle mixes RUclips's been recommending me lately. It's crazy to think so many techno and trance elements are STILL used today, hopefully Taku-san will make some trance with his insane percussion from back then. Hopefully my future audio/visual mixes will be just as good, as I have a summer and sky themed one coming soon.

He moved on to orchestral music after a while as Ongaq (which is pronounced almost like taq, as Ongaku, wordplay for music iirc). I think he actually came back to Bemani for its orchestral mixes, composing classical version of the most popular Bemani tracks. Taq actually made an appearance in Diverse System's "RADIAL" in 2015/16 ruclips.net/video/tCkxUKevJ14/видео.html For the most part, it's safe to say we might see some music from him in the future, but he and Taka have been producing for a LONG while, so I'm hoping to hear the two drop the hardest techno song in existence. They were actually in some kind of prog-rock band in the 80s/90s before they went with Konmai (I spelt that right don't worry).

There's something about TaQ's percussion rhythm being timeless even tho the drums and everything used clearly show the age I'll be listening to a lot of trance and techno songs even from today and a lot of songs still fit in with 2023

The game's plug was pulled a year ago, and the app itself was taken down app stores shortly after. This game relied on an internet connection, so even if you could download it to your account, you would be greeted with a screen saying that the game's services had ended.

@@minhquanle6928 Your best bet to find gameplay that's close to this. Chunithm (arcades, mainly only found in Southeast Asia or Round 1 Arcades in the US), DanceRail3 or DanceRailRefresh (iOS, Android), or Project Sekai (iOS, Android) for the mode shown in the compilation. However, the closest you'll get to the alternative and main mode of the game, Chaos, would be the Cytus series, which are available on mobile, Switch, and uh... even the PSVita. There was another game, Calice, but it was recently removed from app stores, likely due to halted development. Hopefully Naoki considers a reboot of a similar series since the gameplay of Chaos mode was quite unique. You can find plenty of videos showcasing that mode in Seven's Code.

​@@Shiosamayup i'm play cytus 2 too so the chaos mechanics really fascinate me. I also remember that there is a chinese game called lyrica looks very similar to the chaos mode itself. Still i hope i can get a chance to experience a novel-like game similar to this in the future (i played both arcaea, cytus and lanota too, and their stories are as great as seven's code's one)

@@minhquanle6928I took at quick look at Lyrica and yeah, the mechanics are very close to Chaos mode, the only difference being that there's an arrow to follow throughout the song, and the charts don't look as chaotic (pun intended) as Seven's Code. I hope you enjoy cytus though, I can't afford all the DLCs but the game sure plays nicely!

It's not a rave if it's just the same lights over and over for an hour Took a while going back and forth finding the correct BGAs and trying to figure out which IIDX generic BGA is used for each song, but it was entirely worth it
