Sweet potato? In indonesia we call it "Ubi Ungu"
Not growing sweet potatoes this year, but maybe next year. Just growing 4 different varieties of regular potatoes. Thanks for the comment!
I haven't tilled my gardens yet its been way to muddy im itching to get started.
I found it’s so hard to be patient this time of year. Especially when you see other RUclips gardeners already 1-2 months ahead. Hoping for dryer weather for you and you can scratch that itch!
Find out if it is summer fruiting or autumn fruiting as both need different pruning 👍 Summer you prune what has fruited and leave the nee canes that have grown that year Autumn you will just chop down the lot at the end of the season
It is a summer fruiting kind. Thanks for the tip!
Any pruning tips? my bush is in its 2nd year and unsure wether I should be cutting any bits off yet
My tip would be only to prune away any damaged branches or branches that are rubbing together.
Can you put the babies straight in soil?
You can! Just keep them moist but not drenched for the first few weeks. I'm not very good at keeping up with watering with new plants, so that's why I root mine in a cup of water for 7-10 days...sometimes 14 if life gets too busy :)
Great points.
Thank you!
the hotter ones take longer to germinate 3 weeks
Would you say its 3 weeks by conventional methods? ie starting indoors directly into seed starting mix? The method I do above, even without a heat mat, I've had hot pepper seeds germinate in 7-10 days. With a heat mat, in as little as 3-5 days.
Nice vid. One thing I would be careful on the fertiliser . You want it to go dormant and I’d worry that this will promote leaf growth over winter rather than spring when you should add it. Just my opinion.
Thanks for the comment! I usually do 1/2 strength which I forgot to mention, strictly for root establishment. Thanks for watching!
Wait.u don't have to use boiling water to peal the skins .that's a game changer. Thanks for the tip.
