As a mother who lost a son to an accidental overdose at 20 years old, and who also had a lot of experience with other losses and betrayals I thought this was very fair and well balanced. Not that I heard the episode 9 years ago but I do want to thank you for revisiting the topic.

Yes, some without guests get straight to it. I prefer it. I personally cannot finish long videos often. And as an introvert, idle chitchat kind of bugs me. Everyone's time is valuable. We should understand that more after dealing with grief.

I lost my mom in 2020 and even though 3 yrs. have passed, the holidays are incredibly hard for me. I lost my brother on New Years day. When you have no family left holidays are so painful & you have no desire to celebrate them. They are a constant reminder of families being together. I just want them to be over. What do you do when you are all alone? 💔

I'm remembering a number of loved ones. What brought me to Bereavement/Grief support was the death of my wife of 45 years; 6 years ago, today December 8, 2023. I recognized a mission field and joined one and began another bereavment ministry at my parish. I've self-published 2 books based on my perspective as a caregiver and then, the sequel. Since I lost my wife, i lost a brother 10 months later, my best friend 2 years later, my brother-in-law (another best friend) 3 years later, our 45 year old daughter 3 years later, another best friend 42 months later, and my last best friend 4 years later. I'm here to absorb perhaps other avenues of support to offer through the 2 bereavement ministries I'm involved with. My wife died during advent/feast day of Immaculate Conception and so holidays that year were a blur, i was stunned, in shock. the following year is when it really hit me. I'm here to continue learning

'Penny' A novel by Daniel Quill: "What if people who have passed away could occasionally visit their loved ones on Earth? James was a plumber who had everything he ever wanted: a happy family. Then one day, he lost his daughter in an accident when she was only five years old. His family broke apart in the wake of the tragedy. He spent many years living with his grief, until one night, when he was at his lowest ebb, an angel offered him a glimpse of hope. Wendy, his daughter, has grown up in Heaven among people who love and care for her. She enjoys her heavenly life, but has a desire to see her family back on Earth again, and to let them know she is safe and well. One day, she is granted her wish. This is a heart-wrenching and heart-warming story that explores the theme of the eternal soul. Fans of literature and intrigue will enjoy this inspiring and emotional novel, as they discover the truth about the mysterious angel. This is the debut novel by Daniel Quill. He has spent a number of years gradually crafting this compelling story that might, just possibly, touch your soul."
