I've always been an absolute sucker for radio comms in games, think really it stems from Doom 3 at the start when you just hear everything going to shit, knowing that civvies are dying, marines and MarsSec can't handle it and are mostly cut off from each other. Same kinda thing in this, HL doesn't capture that same "oh shit, we are so fucked" that the HECU give off in BM Echo 3 Juliet radioing in to report that he's on his own with a leg wound and quickly losing blood, then being given instructions on what to do only for his comms to cut off completely is just brutal

yea at first it's really chaotic in black mesa then we have the echo 3 juliet scene that just feels like everyone is dead and the only ones remaining are echo 3 juliet (dies soon after) and the few marines still on the surface
Echo-3 refers to his rank/pay grade (Lance Corporal) and Juliet is nato phonetic for the first letter of his last name This is exactly what we were taught on how to talk over the radio in MCT, good shit on the developers
