Просмотров 2,7 тыс.2 года назад

Step 1: Knit the first stitch Step 2: Place that stitch back on the left hand needle Step 3: Insert your right hand needle into the front of the first stitch on the left hand needle (the one you just knit and ...

How to Knit: Left Twist & Right Twist
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.2 года назад
A new video is on the site, talking you through how to cable without a cable needle. The newly released Twin Falls Mitts have a cable that is composed of back to back C4Bs and C4Fs, and I think with a little bit of practice cabling without a cable needle, you’ll be able to make them up in a flash! The Left and Right Twists are simple, no fuss, decorative stitches similar to a 1x1 cable. This te...
How to Cable Without a Cable Needle
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 года назад
Ready to streamline your cable knitting? Enter cabling without a cable needle! It’s true - it can be done, and it’s not as scary as it may seem. I do want to recommend using a sport to worsted non-superwash yarn, there’s lots of reasons for this, but mostly, the way superwash yarn is treated makes it slippery.. dropping stitches is never any fun. You can absolutely do this with thinner yarns, b...

How to Knit: the German Twisted Cast On
I remember seeing this video a while back, I was looking for it because I forgot how it was done, glad I found it, thanks for the tutorial.
Will this work for bulky yarn? I am new to knitting and trying to make a hat for my adult son. Can you suggest a nice simple pattern that I can use bulky yarn and have a folded brim?
Thats seems like a lot of work when you could just do another round with knit 1 purl 1 knit 1 purl 1 without having to change the stitches? I've never done this cast off before.
Thank you for this fabulous tip and taking the time to make a video.
Thank for sharing
What cast on did you use? So beautiful!
PERFECT tutorial with excellent results. Thanks so much!
Will this work with 3 x 1 ribbing?
I would like to get pattern design totorial of this pattern
I use baskets
Thank gawd this video exists. Didn’t understand pattern at all. lol
I just watched a video of nimble needles and he says the stich should be twisted back on to the needle. This is basically a normal bind of but done in a different manner. Or maybe with a smaller twist. I would have to try it to see the actual difference myself. Looks more convenient than passing over stiches though.
Hi I am Silvia from El Salvador! Just found your channel browsing around craft bags theme, and just loved your video so thanks so much for showing us your precious bags. Project bags are things that makes us happy so let's get more of them! I mostly crochet but also knit a little. I subscribed for it was nice to crochet in your podcast company.
If you like the Fringe bags, they’ve done a collaboration with Grainline Studios to create a great bag pattern.
I wasn't looking for this tutorial but happy i came across it. I usually use a purl row to define my folded brim. This only looks nice for stockinette stiches. Happy to have a better option for rib. Hopefully if works for folded neck too 😊
I'm a bag girl too and currently contemplating my 5th and maybe 6th needle set ok possibly 7th so many amazing brands to try. So far my signatures are my go to.

This is a great technique! Where can I find this hat pattern? I really like it. Thank you!
Ravelry-- Ryegate Hat
Is this done for one row or two?
great tutorial how could this be done on a flat bed knitting machine? Would I just take the slip stitches out of working position threw the slip process?
Love your decorative pins on your bags.
Thank you so much for your tutorial, it is very helpful. Would you know if thi would work on just knit on the round? I am knitting a cowl. Thank you so much

Hello, just found your channel and your website, So glad,I needed that, Hello to Idaho (former resident) from San Deigo
Would you do the same if you were kniting in the stockinette in the round?
Clarify that the slip one is purlwise.
Thank you, great trick. Already did it on two hats👍🏻 QUESTION: Can this be done with a 2K 2P brim? or is it only suitable for 1K 1P brim?
I think it can be done on a 2x2 rib stitch. What will happen is the floats on the back will be a bit longer, so as long as you are okay with the longer floats it will be fine. When you do Fair Isle you typically don't want to have floats longer than 3 stitches without being caught again. Also keep an eye on your tension as you go, if you pull too tight you could loose the elasticity in the knitting. You could also seam the knit brims together to hide the floats on the inside and permanently lock the brim in place.
@@LoneGems thank you for the information. I will. All the best.
This is awesome. Thank you So much ❤
Great idea for a topic! Really. Enjoyed. Hope to see more videos. 🙂❤️
Love you knitting bag videos can you please do all your other bags totes etc😊😊😊😊
Good tutorial. Please speak up. Volume all the way up and can barely hear you.
Hey, thanks for the tip! I have a question, if I'm knitting in round, would this two rows repeat change to k1, sl1wyif and then sl1wyib, p1?
These directions are for knitting in the round. You will work both rounds as work 2 rounds as *sl1wyib, p1
Hi, This is the first video of yours that I've seen. Found it in the free pattern for the scarf you showed early in the video. And, I found the pattern link on Ravelry. I first loved the look of the scarf and the pattern being free was a big bonus. Thank you so much for that, btw. I really appreciate your tool recommendations too. I had no real idea what blocking wires were or how to use them. And, I've been wondering about sock blockers too. You really cleared up my biggest questions about those too. Thank you again! To date, I've only got one pair of socks under my belt but, they weren't blocked. It didn't keep me from wearing the heck out of them though. Anyway, between the interesting pattern (that also had me learning 💜 a new cast on & bind off) and the video, I had to hit that subscribe button and the bell too. 🥰 I know you have more for me to learn, thank you again. 💜✌️🧶
Thanks for the great tutorial, this is exactly what I was looking for! I have 2 questions, would really appreciate the extra guidance. 🙏 1. If my hat uses 2x2 ribbing, could I get a similar result by doing s2 wyib, p2? Or does this work best only as described? (s1 wyib, p1) 2. Could you clarify which way the fabric bends? If I have the RS facing me while I work 2 rounds of this fold line, will the fabric bend toward me (RS) or away from me (WS)? Thanks again!
This is a great question!! I haven’t tried the 2x2 yet - I wonder what slipping 2 side by side will do. To answer your question, when knitting the right side, the part after the bend leans towards you - so essentially the two right sides will be facing eachother when the brim is folded, just like when knitting a folded brim beanie without the special add in. Does that make sense?
@@afibercollective Yes! Thanks, very helpful. I’m working on a quick swatch to test out the 2x2 approach, will report back here soon in case it’s useful info for others.
Ok, yes you can work the fold line with 2 slips followed by 2 purls and it looks/works just fine.
@@jzimbel this is great to know! Thanks for swatching and posting with an update!
I totally enjoyed your review of project bags. I ordered and am obsessed with Madder Root trundle bags. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! The Madder Root bags are so awesome! I'm glad you ordered one! Which one did you get??
I got the mini monarch trundle bag. Next will either be regular or large. They are super nice and fun to use.
Love my Maxwell needle case. I keep my cables in the large pocket in back and use the zip pocket for small bits. All of my needles fit in the Maxwell. Your bag collection is a dream.
I just started doing that too! I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me before. Such a fantastic needle case! What color do you have?
@@afibercollective Tobasco. One of the larger bags is on my wishlist for now.
Hi, Dutchie here, your first project bag is pronounced: "Teen en Meep" :-)
Thank you Esme! 😊
Yesss, an in-depth bag video!
So many bags!! 😆
Love to see All your bags.. I've got a lot My self.. Mostly with All the ufos.. And partly because i like sewing bags too. 💚
So glad I’m not alone! Lol I think sewing bags would add an entirely new dimension to my bag stash! 😆
Thoroughly enjoyed….🥰
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video tutorial…thank you!!!👏
You are welcome! ☺️
I have that same twig and horn bag. It is definitely my go to travel bag.
It makes a wonderful travel companion!
I like the style of blocking wires you showed. I have some that come wound in a tin. When you unfurl them, it can be dangerous if you don’t control the ends. They work great and I have two tins with two sizes. They are great for shawls. The knitter’s pride pins were a game changer for me when I bought them. I have three sets now that I have acquired over time. The knit picks brand and knitter’s pride brands are great for blocking accessories.
I never even thought about the coiled ones being hazardous to your health, but it makes sense! I love my knitters pride pin set - they are truly awesome!
I too have an obsession with collecting project bags. My alltime favorite are drawstring bags as you don't have to worry about your knitting getting stuck in the zipper. The fabric prints are my weakness.......In my opinion you can never have too many. You can always use them for storing other things too, right?! Enjoying your podcast.....
🤭I'm glad I'm not alone! I agree, you can't ever have too many and they are certainly multifunctional! Thanks for watching!
Awesome thanks
You bet!
This is a totally useless comment, but I love this lady, she is absolutely brilliant. And now she has another comment and a like!! 😄
You are the best Lynnette! Thank you for your support! 🥰
I have those exact same blocking mats and they’re great - so much better than my towel/ trash bag method I had been using. (I’m also wearing my Oak Creek Cardigan as I’m watching this, and it’s so cozy!)
They are great aren't they!? Also love the fact that you're wearing your Oak Creek!! What a pleasant surprise. Have a wonderful day!
Amazing Free knitting pattern 🧶💗
Enjoy! 😊
Absolutely lovely first episode!
Thank you kindly!
Great idea, should be lots of fun!
I think so too!
