Cessna 170 vs Arctic Oven Hot Tent Wind Test
Glad the camera geek gave us a great shot of the tall grass !!
Cool video! Did you bend the crankshaft?
Like my Boss told me one time: "The Only People that do not make mistakes are People who do not do anything, and this place is full of Perfectionist!"
Wow, I think I've nevver seen people use this massive of a metal to build a stol fuselage. Is that really that common? Isn't it more common to use smaller diameter round metal/pipes? I mean just this fuselage must weight "a ton".
Ohh what, wait. Now I see. how cool is that. It's just the building frame!? This is cool. Are there any build plans for such a frame?
Fuck, not that important for now anyway because in germany you basically aren't allowed anyway to build an airplane. Well at least if you want to do it "romantically" in your private shop at your own leisure. The thing is you have to do it basically hand holding with the TÜV(that beaurocrat fascist organisation that already diabolically tyrannizes car owners/customizers/restorators). Which gives it a very bad taste.
Yes...the prop has to go on the wall.
better to show the thing you're talking about
fantastic really appreciate it
Why would anyone want a black airplane ?
3:47 I would serously think about direct connection of the flaps to a handle in the middle roof?? in tween the pilots up front... how many more 4place SuperDuper4pCUBs are there now that its 4 years later???? they still flying??? HAHVE THEY GOTn BETTER?
Wow, that's a lot of humble pie, very commendable. While turning off at my exit taxiway at my home airport one summer, a dust devil stood my Ces 107B on end enough to get a ground strike with my prop, but the plane never felt like it was starting to fly. It just felt like my tail was instantly getting above my head. I had entered the turnoff taxiway when I was suddenly turned 180 deg and instantly faced the ground then a sickening grinding noise. The prop had to be replaced and the engine inspected $$$$. However, I have extracted several downed fixed-wing just like this one during the years I flew helicopters in the Rocky Mountain region. So I know a little bit about what you went through. I hope your Cub is back in the air.
Did I hear it right at 4:00 that there is an STC to put dual yokes in this thing? So therefor a certified 4 place cub can have dual controls?
I've never been enthusiastic about "Back Country Flying" but it's fun to watch. I had my fill years ago flying Jumpers from an old dry creek bed in the Arizona Desert using a 180. I landed a T-34 on an unused part of the old Hwy 66 to investigate a Truck accident carrying Toxic waste (Also made a few unscheduled stops while on SAR Missions with the CAP and had lots of time in a PA-18...But as I said, I'd rather watch others with their specialty Plane do the impossible !!!! My advice to anyone who crashes in the woods....Bring lots of Snicker Bars and several cans of an energy Drink......With luck, I'll find you !!!!!
Always carry a satellite locater beacon no matter where you fly.
My first plane was a Pacer, and always wanted to do this.

I support you and value your idea.keep the innovation and let it have dual controls, consider of providing a control column(yoke) according to clients requirements.Kenyan tail drager pilot.
Is that a PA18? Thing is massive! Looks good 👍
One time at band camp
Iam 82 and just love this . I flew a lot of planes in Idaho and Alaska . why wernt these planes were made a way back .. O i want one.
I have spoiled my husband buying his chitina supplies from this company 🎉
Are they serviceable, or are they a one and done?
I just wish all tail wheels had a lock like the late model 185s. Never had a shimmy with those.
I’ve been running ABW’s Tailwheel Shimmy Dampener for 2 years on our ACA Scout. When we put it on we also went to the ABW Baby Bushwheel which has a nasty reputation of shimmy on Scouts; just to give the dampener a solid test. I can report after maybe a hundred landings on concrete, asphalt, grass, gravel and dirt; high speed 3-points & wheel landings……not a single shimmy experience. A miracle innovation at least in our application. The best $1k I’ve spent on the airplane over the 9 years of ownership. And for the size / shape / weight of a sardine can.

Dumb question but if your flying solo do you pilot from front seat, compared to rear?
stupid masks
Did it sell
Any update on NPRM or AD?
What is stated here is not the truth. The issue was with PA's an a big NAV light on the top of the rudder in which the rudder was not design to have that mass in it. The standard Cub rudder without a NAV light is fine.
The cameraman had one job, and failed it miserably
It’s not a slim super Cub…it’s a fat boy
Fieseler Fi 156 Storch.Nice.
"500 foot strip...a fairly long strip". Wow, these guys are amazing.
You mentioned that you should have aborted the takeoff but then what would your options have been at that point? I can't imagine that there is anything a guy could do to improve the runway conditions. Was it just going to continue to get wetter there or does that terrain dry out that time of year? I see that it snowed in the intervening 3 weeks. Do you ever have to leave a plane until it snows and then put skis on it to get out of situations like this?
Clown show
Low timer
Doesn’t Maule make a 4 place Super Cub? 😎
Thanks for reading the comments and testing apples to apples.
Can't wait for the PA-12 on -18 gear STC! I need to replace my bungees and don't want to have to go with a competitor's shocks.
'promo sm' 👊
Look like Acme Aero clones…need more information.
Would have liked to see how they compared to the Acme Aero Black Ops. It seems like these would be a better apples-to-apples product comparison with a similarly constructed suspension product.
I was gonna say the same thing
Having flown Bungess for over 40 years on dozens of Cubs, have flown AOSS for 5 years. There is ALOT more difference than this test indicates! This video is obviously rigged as a sales promotional video. Can't speak to how these compare to AOSS but just looking at how splayed out the Aoss appear to me, they appear totally worn out? or they have ALOT more weight on top of t hem??? Something is very " rigged" in this video as we dropped tested ours after switching to AOSS; and our own testing showed Aoss to be about 50% better than good bungee. I would expect these are better, BUT very doubtful as much better as this video depicted........ be cautious of these claims or you could be paying alot for lazer engraving and anodizing..... 😮
given that youve flown the other two, maybe you should get the TiSHX and see how it compares.
@@purplepenguin43 I am all set with AOSS, however I am sure these a great shocks, since I am done guiding and don't really need anything more than Aoss, I am all set on suspension. You should grab a set and let us know how you like them.???
Amazing product!
Cub isnt a chopper
You got a great story to tell though!
ALL hunters suck...plain and simple..no exceptions..FU
Thank you for sharing.
That cost you some money !!!! Nice work getting it out from there.
Sure glad I don't treat my Super Cub like that. (but they wreck a lot of them every year up there.)
Roads?? Where we're going, we don't need roads
