What do you say about the both lathes, 6 months on turning?
Well, they’ve been used extensively, especially the 7066 model and I like it a lot. No issues whatsoever. The only thing I would’ve done different which I don’t think is available through Grizzly is even a larger swing model, but we have a big one-way in here as well. However, the Grizzly with the outboard extension table, I can turn very large pieces.
@@SeeTheWoodTurn-cf8rv Great to know it,! Thanks!
Thankfully those crazy ass americans also have 360° in one rotiation😂
Thats actually sweet!
Yes, it is, it works fantastic, especially when there’s more than one person using it
Nice
That's beautiful!! ❤
Thank you so much. I appreciate the comment.
It will be beautiful, but I can hear my tools screaming from home! Gonna be hard on them
It’s all done and if you look on the full video section of my RUclips channel, you will see the finished product. Thanks so much for commenting.
What are you using to seal that?!?
Well, in the past, I used to use the expensive sealers that you can buy of course is multiple brands. However, now pretty much all I use is glue diluted with water.
Cool. I have used glue as well as CA glue for small pieces.
@@juanandrada6651 oh yes, definitely use CA glue as well. Use that often for stabilizing cracks, as well as stiffening up punky spots in the wood as well.
A buttplug?
Looking good 🎉
Thanks
Wow very interesting !!!
Thanks, it’s a process for sure. But I enjoy it.
Hell, yeah! Great work. What type of woods.?
Oak, maple, honey locust, poplar, white birch, walnut. At least that’s what I have at the moment.
@@SeeTheWoodTurn-cf8rv Very cool thank you. And great summer to u
@@Wood_969 thank you for commenting, you also have a great summer. Keep watching for new items and videos coming soon.
What is the function of the sculpted Vega cutter? It looks like the ground or milled depression on the cutter top extends to the tip and sides and forms an acute edge such as will shave the stock like a regular lathe gouge. Good video. Thank you.
I think you’re talking about the cutter tip itself, if so it’s designed so it cuts off to the side of the tip yes you can just cut with the tip itself but if you take a little bit deeper cut then you’re shaving from the side of the blade and it does a much more efficient job of cutting material. I hope that answers your question. If not feel free to clarify. I’m still in the process of setting up the shop however we are up and running to some extent hopefully more videos will be coming soon. Thank you so much for the comment and question.
Honestly this looks amazing and an all around great bowl too
Thank you very much. The shop is slowly being set up and I plan to Do a lot more videos full length as well as shorts hopefully you stick around to check them out. Thanks again for the kind words.
*stumbles upon wild and satisfying wood spinning*
Nice ass🫦
good luck with the new lathes!
Thanks, they’ve been up and running for a few weeks now and working fantastic.
push cut with a 40/40 grind would make this so much easier
Yes going to be setting up a new sharpening station shortly with several options including a set up specifically for the 40/40 grind
Wow! Impressive shop! Be cool to see where this goes. Good luck bud.
Thanks it’s slowly coming together I have three lathes set up now with three more being moved in over the next couple months.
