How did Arya become a faceless assassin? Didn't she leave Braavos without completing her training?
Arya travels to Braavos and seeks out the Faceless Men, a guild of assassins who are skilled in changing their appearance through magic and taking on new identities to carry out their missions.
Arya's training with the Faceless Men is a complex and challenging process. She begins her training with Jaqen H'ghar, a mysterious assassin whom she meets in Westeros. In Braavos, Arya is taken in by the House of Black and White, the temple of the Many-Faced God where the Faceless Men worship. There, she is trained in various skills, including combat, stealth, and the art of deception.
Throughout her time in Braavos, Arya struggles with the teachings of the Faceless Men, particularly the requirement...

How Did Tywin Lannister know Arya is not a commoner?
Просмотров 16423 часа назад
Taiwin and Arya never meet in the books, so this is a show-only answer. While she was his cupbearer at Harren hall, Taiwin had no inkling who Arya was - things would have happened very differently if he had known. When Littlefinger came there, he knew - having seen Arya up close at the capital - but he doesn’t say a word to Taiwin. Hello everyone, If you are new here, Please don't forget to sub...
How did Robb Stark know Jon’s true Identity?
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.5 часов назад
A raven arrived at Winterfell just as the midday sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the courtyard. Robb Stark, weary from a morning spent training new recruits, broke the wax seal with a frown. Inside, the parchment held a cryptic message from Mayster A-mon at the Wall. It spoke of a hidden chamber discovered beneath the Nightfort, filled with ancient scrolls and a tapest...
Is Sansa Stark in love with Littlefinger? Or is she up to something?
Просмотров 635 часов назад
Following a conversation in the crypts, Little finger tells Sansa that he expects Stannis to successfully defeat the Boltons and have Sansa eventually declared Wardenness of the North, and advises that should Stannis fail, she should personally destroy the Boltons and re-claim her title. He then kisses her on the lips. While she seems slightly awkward, she does not hold back. Speaking strictly ...
Who is more dangerous, Euron Greyjoy or Daemon Targaryen?
Просмотров 475 часов назад
Daemon is a rogue prince, a man with quite a lot of power and influence, riding a reasonably large dragon. He could (and did) slightly destabilize the realm on his own, and he was a major player in the Dance of the Dragons. A great fighter in his time, who died in one of the most epic fights in the history of Westeros. Euron Greyjoy is the herald of the Apocalypse. A monstrous madman, dabbling ...
How does Tywin treat Tyrion and Sansa's son?
Просмотров 2535 часов назад
Well the problem is that Taiwin would never live to meet Sansa’s child. He dies within just a few months of their wedding and that’s pretty much no-negotiable. If not Tyrion, Varys would’ve done the deed himself, or Oberyn’s poison would’ve killed him. And Taiwin is also still just an old man anyways, and old men die all the time. What was Varys' plan when he was talking to Ned in the dungeon?

In the long run I think Varys eventually planned to co-opt Ned the way he co-opted Tyrion. Ned being executed, or Sansa being executed to get him to comply, would also set off a political firestorm that Varys wouldn’t necessarily be able to control. Why didn't Tywin marry Sansa himself?

First, Taiwin for as ruthless and inhuman as he seems, still is, and always has been, human. He could’ve remarried after Joanna died to get more children to secure the line of Casterly Rock but he didn’t. He could’ve married after Jaime was snatched up from the Kingsguard to someone like Lysa which resecures that Tully alliance, and creates more distance between Tyrion and Casterly Rock, and ye...
Why did Gregor Clegane's father not punish him for burning Sandor's face?
Просмотров 11113 часов назад
The simplest answer was that Gregor was a noble. He was his father’s son and heir. It was fully expected that he’d inherit the Clegayn name and estate. Publicly admitting that his heir had attempted to murder his younger brother (in a particularly horrific way) would be been a destructive thing to the family. How does one punish such a case? If Robb Stark listened to Roose Bolton's strategy for war, Would Roose still kill him?
Просмотров 25513 часов назад
The show presents Roose as a ruthless but still loyal-ish bannerman who tries to give Robb what he thinks is fair advice and turns on Robb when the idiot teenager doesn't listen to him and he gets fed up with it. Watching only the show, you could, I guess, argue that Roose would have stayed loyal if Robb had listened to him, which is still pretty limp given who the Boltons are, but it at least ...
What would Robert have done if Ned took the throne instead of him?

I’m pretty sure Ned was offered the throne and he rejected it, saying it was rightfully Roberts. So if Ned said, “I’ll take it.” Robert would happily walk his way back to the stormlands with a whole brothel at his back, making Cersi the most miserable Lady Baratheon to exist as Ned is already married to Cat. Why did Littlefinger marry Sansa off to the Boltons? What did he have to gain from that?
Просмотров 14415 часов назад
He turns her over to the Boltons especially when it didn’t benefit him, it benefited the Boltons who ran the North which is what he wanted. It was a clever way to condense the story, remove Jeyne Poole from the story (girl being forced to pretend to be Arya Stark and is Ramsay’s victim), but in their cleverness, they do something that even I don’t see Little finger doing and that’s saying somet...
Would the North have remained in the Seven Kingdoms if Jon had been elected King?
Просмотров 16317 часов назад
That was the point of Sansa telling Bran it would stay independent; she didn’t care if her brother was on the southern throne. Her conviction was unchanged. Someone who didn’t care that much would have shrugged and figured that Bran (or Jon) was good enough. She didn’t. It’s kind of hard to say but it also creates a whole host of other problems for the Kingdom even if it did. Hey guys, welcome ...
What should Ned Stark have done once he learned that King Robert’s kids were bastards
Просмотров 15620 часов назад
There are many things Ned should’ve done. He should have accepted Renly Baratheon’s offer of 100 sworn swords to quickly take Cersi’s children and gain control of the capital. If this happened, ALL BLOODSHED would have been avoided. Cersi prized her children more than anything else at that point, including the throne. Why did Stannis flee King's Landing early in a song of ice and fire?

Jon Arryn’s death spooked him. Even if it looked plausible that Arryn just died of old age, Stannis, being aware of what the two of them had been researching and being cynical by nature, probably thought he’d be next and decamped to Dragonstone accordingly. It’s unclear to me if he was ever planning to tell Robert the truth or if he wanted to buy time to gather up more proof or get other people...

Based off what I got from the book he didn’t think Jon wasn’t Ned’s child. The North operates differently than the rest, the Starks were known to raise their bastards alongside their true born kids. The Karstark family line came from such origins after all.

  • @r1pbuck
    @r1pbuck 6 дней назад

I guess this is reasonable...even if you don't 'suspect' the truth, Jon's relationship with the Stark family did seem odd. One thing the show really got wrong was that 'book John' had a strong facial resemblance to Ned and really, Lyanna was kind of forgotten, or at least hardly mentioned in the early books. What puzzles me is how Lord Varys never knew, or figured it out. He somehow didn't have a single spy in place in the Tower of Joy? That seems _very_ unlikely to me. I thought for sure at some point Varys would use that bit of intel to blow the story up...but no.

Stannis also knew that Ned’s genes weren’t stronger than the Tully ones as 4 out of the 5 true born Stark children resembled their mother with Auburn hair and blue eyes. The chance that the notoriously honorable Ned had a bastard was already suspect but then here comes his true born children with an 80% Tully appearance while only Arya gets the Stark looks to match Jon… it stands to reason that Jon would have come from a brother or his sister with those distinct Stark features. I don’t think Stannis would have guessed Rhaegar as the father since Targaryens have their own tell tale physical appearances.

With such sheer numbers , the coup would have been carried out effortlessly and clean as well.

Problem with this, if he accepted Renly's offer it would be Renly sitting the throne. He wanted to take power for himself based on the assumption he would be a better king then his brooding, emotionless, and unpopular brother Stannis. I'll say this for Renly though, he wouldn't have caused as big a war. Stannis would have had the Iron Islands, Tyrells, and anyone who crossed him executed., not to mention the Red Woman's bidding. Robert and Renly understood forgiveness was necessary at times. The Iron Islands though, perhaps should have been ransacked and their drowned god drowned for good. They promoted raiding and reaving. That kind of religion shouldn't be allowed to exist from an ethical standpoint. War was of course inevitable no matter what. If Ned chose to follow Renly they would have had to deal with Tywin and Jaime, as well as Stannis, the Iron Islands might try to take advantage of the chaos then as well. But with the north, the crown and storm lands, as well as the reach, they'd have a much better chance and be united under Renly. He had somewhat good reasons for wanting the throne and I think would have made a better king then either his brothers as he was likable and not as angry, dishonorable, or irresponsible. He was skilled in politics and would have had people like Ned, Randyll Tarly and other experienced men that he was able to win over. Still kinslaying is one of the most terrible things, but he and Stannis would never make peace.

I don’t know if Littlefinger ever really loved Cat or just loved what she represented: something he couldn’t have. As a teen she was beautiful and from a rich powerful family. She was his meal ticket to power and wealth if he married her. When he loses a duel for Cat he sleeps with her sister lyssa and gets her pregnant. I think Littlefinger would have married Lyssa if her father allowed it (and then plotted against Cat and Edmure to make Lyssa heir to Riverrun). Also Littlefinger doesn’t make any effort to keep in touch with Cat after she’s married but he does continue to manipulate Lyssa after her marriage. So he’s more into the power of the Tully women then he is in love with Cat. And when Cat and Littlefinger are reunited in kings landing he doesn’t act like he’s in love with her and lies to her about the assassin’s dagger. And he seems to be trying to impress Sansa even at the Hand’s tournament in season 1. Sansa is more like the young Cat then middle aged Current Cat is. And while he makes an attempt to make an advance on Cat at Renly’s camp she pulls a knife on him which probably takes her off his crush list. Especially with Lyssa and Sansa being easier to manipulate. For a pimp like Littlefinger love is a transactional asset to be used to get wealth and power.
