Hi, my name is Esmay and I've been a Eurovision fan since 2009. or how my family calls me: 'A Eurovision encyclopedia.' In 2021 I finally got to fulfil a dream I've had for a long time and got to go the the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest right in my home country The Netherlands. In 2024 I travelled to Malmö and attended both semi’s live, getting to see all 37 competing entries in the arena!
I learned how to edit video's while I was still in school and decided to make some ranking video's on Junior Eurovision during my free time. I loved how they turned out and thought 'why not share it?' I will make and share new video's when I have time, when I actually feel like editing and when I have fun new video ideas.

France only received 10 reverse points from the televote (3 from Austria, 3 from UK, 3 from Germany and 1 from Italy), therefore France would have ended 22nd with 65 points.
@@gonzalosoymotor9903 description 😉
DESTINY WAS IN JESC AND ESC???!!!
Yeah and she's not the only one to have done both. A hand full of them either competed themselves or did backing vocals.
Kazakhstan 2018, 2019 and 2020 are all masterpieces… but 2020 still hits so hard to this day, one my favourite entries ever 😭😭😭
You can find the link to download the banners in the description. If you want you can use them in your own video's, but I would appreciate it if you give me a shoutout if you do. The only thing you need to add yourself are the numbers.
The Netherlands are robbed this year 😢
Everyone who is from the balkans understands their song so i think thats why i like that song the most from any song here 🇭🇷👏🇲🇰
Our 2024 winner Andria Putkaradze was born on June 11, 2013 and won on November 16, 2024, making him 11 years, 5 months, and 5 days old when he won.
I just realized that today is Mariam Mamadashvili’s 19th birthday and today, her country won again
I know, I just have to finish editing the video and thumbnail before I can upload it and I also still need to finish up my actual job 😅
2016 georgia, just wow! What an amazing voice!
ah yes, the 2000's, where kids were kids and didn't pretend to act like adults... JESC was so fun back then, not anymore, sad.
A melhor de todo o jesc 2024
Curious how Spain was the 10th least hated song in the televoting (tied with Finland), but was the 4th worst song in the public vote.
🇩🇰 needs to wake up Hopefully 🇲🇪 will qualify next year in Basel...
It’s funny how out of all of Poland’s NQs, May picks the one that technically qualified to play also the transition from Poland to Romania was so smooth
@@Skylareserve honestly I just picked my favourites from within the streak, with only a slight preference for ones that were available in full HD 😅
@ funny 😆
When it comes to only male winners by age no other young male singer can beat the herreys' age to become the youngest male singer
Toto cotugno even passed away last year😢❤
Beautiful carusell of songs❤

My top 16: 16. 0/10, so annoying, I can't listen this 15. 1/10, like Sweden, annoying 14. 0/10, its bad 13. 5/10, not bad, but boring 12. 7/10, i like it 11. 2/10, 50/50 annoying 10. 0/10, I dont like that 9. 3/10, cringe, but not so bad 8. 6/10, good one 7. 6/10, good 6. 4/10, not my style 5. 3/10, so so 4. 8/10, cool 3. 7/10, this is like uk 2. 10/10, so cool 1. 10/10, my winner
7:12 “she sounds horrible” -my mom
@@Skylareserve believe it or not, that’s (in my opinion) the best song out of that streak😂

Bosnia and Herzegovina were so good at Eurovision i hope they come back
updates: Australia: 1 (2021 and 2024) Azerbaijan: 2 (2023-2024) Malta: 3 (2022-2024) Denmark: 4 (2021-2024) *Poland: 3 (2019 actually qualified because the Czech juror switched their points up and accidentally sent Belarus to the final)*
@@Skylareserve I already uploaded an updated version of this video
@@ESCMay oh okay!
and those 2 qualifications being Montenegro’s only times qualifying
Sandra Kim was the most irritating winner of the ESC besides that she should have been disqualified and stripped of her title for cheating and breaking the rules.

My Junior Eurovision Song Contest Winners (no ranking) - 2003: Croatia - 2004: Spain - 2005: Belarus - 2006: Portugal - 2007: Armenia - 2008: Belarus - 2009: Russia - 2010: Armenia - 2011: Netherlands - 2012: Russia - 2013: Belarus - 2014: Belarus - 2015: Macedonia - 2016: Russia - 2017: Cyprus - 2018: Armenia - 2019: Spain - 2020: France - 2021: Russia - 2022: Serbia - 2023: Estonia - 2024: Macedonia I realized afterwards, how many times I have Russia and Belarus in there. 😅 But to admit: 2012 and 2021, Ukraine was close second for me.
Your other video is marked as for kids, so comment on your choices: - 2006: My winner was Portugal. I don't like the official winner too much, but I can listen to it nowadays. - 2009: My winner was Russia. But I like Ralf aswell. (I have 2 albums from him.) - 2013: I love your unique winner choice here. 2013 had no bad songs and Azerbaijan was great and fun. But I enjoyed other songs more. My winner was Belarus. - 2010: I agree on the winner (even if I thought he looked arrogant back when I was a teen). But he is ranked too low here 😅 - 2004: I agree. But 2004 was not a good (Junior) Eurovision year anyways sadly. This stood out like crazy! - 2003: I agree. I LOVE this. But I also like the official winner. - 2020: love this song. But Valentina was the best by far! - 2022: She would have been my second winner choice after Serbia. I looove this! Could be higher ranked here. - 2017: The song is ok. 2017 was not a interesting year for me. Back then, I wanted Serbia to win. I want entries, where children are children 😅 - 2016: Ok please don't hate me... But why is this your winner? The song is ok nowadays, but in general it's so cringe! 😅 The dance moves, lyrics everything. My winner was Russia here. - 2019: not a winner for me. I prefered Spain. But I love this song still. 😊 - 2018: Like 2017, this year was not so interesting. And Kazachstan was too much 'adult' for me. My favourite was France that year, but I like Poland, too. But actually, my winner now is Armenia. I listened to that song so many times! 😮 - 2005: Interesting choice and I like the song. But I prefer Belarus a lot more. - 2012: Back then, I was so surprised about her victory. I wanted Netherlands or Georgia to win. But I love her as a winner now. - 2011: I am such a fan of her! Aaaah! 🤩 But my winner was Netherlands that year. And Latvia. With her. Still, I enjoy Candy Music a lot. 😅😊 - 2008: I am a fan of her, too. Even if that took me 2 years after finding her song. My winners are Macedonia and Belarus. - 2015: Here is the other one of the few, where I can not understand your choice. It's boring for me. My winner 2015 was Pletenka by Macedonia, because that was the only entry actually written by the children themselves and I love the song. - 2014: I love your choice here. It's way better than the actual winner and in my top 4. My winners were Belarus and Armenia. - 2007: Totally agree with your choice and ranking. 😊 - 2021: Malena is so overrated. Ukraine would be my choice or Albania.
My favourite winning songs in no order are: France 2020, Netherlands 2009, Armenia 2010, Georgia 2016, Malta 2015, Georgia 2008, Spain 2004, Croatia 2003, Ukraine 2012, Russia 2017, Poland 2019
In 2011, Bzikebi would be last for me. But now, I kind of like how crazy my generation was in Georgia. Now I tell everyone "they are now my age" 😅 So I agree with your ranking here.
Whaat Destiny on 20??😮😢 I LOVED that song! Was my third behind Viva (2nd) and Pletenka (1st). Your 16 would be on my last. I was SO MAD, when my last place won that year!

I would love to see a monthly series of the birthdays of all the Eurovision stars that you know of….more likely of a chance of a birthday Twin.
@@QuaintMelissaK I would have to do some researching for that. I’ve got a lot of the Junior Eurovision birthdays, but I don’t have any Eurovision birthdays written down prior to 2021. It’ll take some time to go through every year. 😅

I think Georgia likes to send kids named Mariam, who go on and win...
Thank you for great video❤
Everyone loves qami qami but this is the least "JESC" song out there... If it would take part in the ESC, no one would raise an eye. Just saying....
@@EurovisionESC shows it’s a pretty dang good song. Young/childlike enough to win Jesc and mature enough that it likely would have done well at Esc aswel. Personally it’s my al time favourite Jesc song.
All respectively good winners, but you see where own country voting took off. Smaller fandom countries don't stand a chance anymore which is sad.
Funny you say so, cause the very first year with this system was brought in place The Netherlands won the online vote (with Malta in 2nd) and dropped down to last in 2021. Kazakhstan always does pretty well. If your song is good enough you'll get votes. You have to pick 3 songs when you vote. France just happens to send a popular song every single year since they've returned. They're like the Sweden of Junior Eurovision.
@@ESCMay but the Netherlands isn't a small fanbase is it? You see a trentline where countries such as the Netherlands, Poland, France and Spain for example do way better compared to Macedonia or let's say Georgia. As to why? It's not because the song quality of these countries are better or worse consistently. I'd argue Macedonia and Georgia send very good submissions based on jury results and the fandom. You can prodict scores in televote so easily. Voting for 3 countries you say? The songs rated lowes on average by the fandom have a spike in votes. Let's say Portugal, Serbia or Albania sends a 'meh' entry. Not to say these songs are bad, I personally love them often, but the fandom clearly doesn't often. These lowest ranked songs always get strategic votes. The number is around the same every year and they outperform countries like let's Georgia when they send a great song and young artist. These strategic votes are direct proof of our own country preferism. Then you have people who vote their favorite and their country and those voting the ones they like most. Inevitably, smaller countries odds drop immensely. Who comes on top? Netherlands, Spain or France for example. Denying this happens is weird, cause 1. Ofc people want to support their own country and go to the contest next year. 2. People discuss these strategies openly. France and the Netherlands for example have organised campaigns by the broadcasters themselves to vote for them. So sure, Malta might once every so often do well, in general the scores are set before the show depending on the jesc it's popularity in each country. That's why we saw the host win twice in a short time, hosting means publicity/attention in the host country, another example. Is it to say big countries can send anything and still win? No of course not, but if it's on the same level as a smaller country, it won't be an exciting journey, we all know who'll win in the end. The bigger country. Last example. Ireland had a one hour delay with broadcasting once, guess who got last?
@@escwilde222 I specifically named the Netherlands, because we've both won it and placed last. Not because of the size of it's fan base. It shows population isn't everything. If the song is shit not even your own people will mass vote for it. Same goes for Spain they send a song that wasn't as wel loved in 2021 and in result didn't do that great with the online vote. According to your theory Germany should do way better than it actually has. It just happens that those 'bigger' countries send more popular songs, likely would have placed similarly with a normal televote system. Literally look at rankings over here on youtube and you'll see the 'bigger' countries are often still at the top. That has nothing to do with voting for your own country. Voting for 'meh' songs hasn't resulted in them reaching top 3, which shows people voting for their favourites rather than weaker songs is still the majority. Voting for your own country doesn’t always play down to just wanting to see your own country do well. Culture and a general preference for songs reflecting said culture come into play aswel. plainly calling it voting for your own country or bloc voting and calling it a day is a bit naive. It's not that simple.
My dad has the same birthday as the winner of 1971, he has it as his winner!
