DIY Step-by-Step Disassembly of GE Freezer PFS22SISCSS + Thermistor & Ice Maker Replacement Tips!
Disassembled my GE Profile Freezer to troubleshoot a cooling problem. I replaced my thermistor. It turned out not be the problem, but I was able to find out the problem by using this procedure (the 2nd time I took it apart). I’ll cover that in my next video. I took time to display all the part numbers I could see. You could easily use this video to see tips on replacing the ice maker too (seems super easy). However, I’m a first-timer and you should seek advice from a professional. Any work you do should be done at your own risk. My purpose is to provide information only. This is to document my own journeys in DIY.

DIY Hose Repair. Easy. Fast. Did it work? What helped improve it?
Просмотров 2432 месяца назад
My first attempt at repairing my hose with a repair kit. The hose got mowed over. I didn’t want to buy a new hose and I didn’t want to wind it onto the hole reel again. What a pain! It was easy and it will buy me some time, but in the end, I’m not completely convinced. I’ll probably try a different style hose repair kit next time. Probably couldn’t use with a power washer.

    HUH, two wires becomes 4? Never addressed by the poster. If additional work was done (and it was) perhaps you might have SHOWN that? As is, this video is incomplete and useless.

    • @DiyHer
      @DiyHer 6 месяцев назад

      Sorry you missed it, but the information is there in the very beginning. The adapter purchased that I fished up the wall are the additional 2 wires. The original 2 wires are already hooked up to the heater and old thermostat. Take another look? Maybe you fast forwarded past it? I didn’t show me fishing it through the wall because you can’t see anything. I guess I could have described it in more detail.

    you started out with one red and one white wire. Where did the additional wires come from?

    • @DiyHer
      @DiyHer 7 месяцев назад

      Two wires were in the wall already and the two new wires came from the 24v adapter that had to be added in order to allow electrical power for the new thermostat. The old thermostat did not require a power source (which is why it couldn’t be programmed).

      A little grew back but I kept at it each weekend for about 4 weeks and now it’s dead. Since it’s right next to the lawn, it may creep in again. I plan to clean and fill the cracks soon to keep it permanent (which worked very well in my driveway).

      Thank you. I actually pondered if I had the right term for the right grass. It’s what my family has always called it. I’ll update my title description but updating the video itself will have to be another time. I think it would work for both. I appreciate the info. I did fill my driveway cracks with silicone and they haven’t come back, so I’m sure you’re right about that. But, I want to resurface my back yard soon and am not sure if silicone will cause problems with that.

      I’m a beginner, no expert. But, the appliance shop gave me a valuable tip! Look at the back of the board for a small burn mark. That’ll help identify which board needs replacing. Look at how tiny my burn spot was in my video. I’d check both the main circuit board and the display one for a burn mark (with power off obviously).
