Putting the placepot in a bookmakers hands should not happen. It should go back to the original way. Giving it to a bookie means he can see winners as ruining his profit margin if he trades on the pool himself. This is because a bookie can see all the people winning at placepots, and simply keep duplicating their bets in the pool, x10 or higher stake until it "breaks" him. If the stake placer stops his system he sees massive wins he thinks he "would have had". In this way the bookie can break winners. If they are allowed to bet on their own placepots they can also optimize what they make into favourites to maximize winnings. There should be some legal safe guard to STOP a bookie betting on his own pool, or getting others to.
