Walk starting at Church Street and Isabella Street, turning West on Gloucester St., a little jog to cross Yonge Street, and then continue West on Saint Joseph. We then walk up St. Nicholas Street, then left on St. Mary Street, and through to the grounds of Victoria Colle...
Walking Toronto: West | Parkdale | Late Summer | Afternoon

Parkdale is like the best and worst of Toronto: eclectic, artsy and ever-changing, while also being famously dingy, and run-down. This west-end neighbourhood has a rich immigrant history, with waves of Polish, Afro-Caribbean, Filipino and Vietnamese immigrants having called it home. Today, Parkdale is home to one of North America’s largest Tibetan expat communities: and has the restaurants to p...

The strip of Danforth Avenue traditionally known as Greektown has evolved into a diverse community hub of multicultural cuisine, shops and independent grocers. It is still home to one of the largest Greek communities in North America; street signs are in English as well as modern Greek, and several scenes from My Big Fat Greek Wedding were filmed here. This walk starts at Danforth Avenue and Do...
Walk Montage: Cabbagetown Festival / Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Festival | Sunday Afternoon | Autumn

Every year, in early September, the Cabbagetown Festival occurs, with local vendors and artisans, music, food, and much more. At the same time, over in Riverdale Park, the Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Fair also takes place. Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Fair is one of my favourite art fairs in the city, because of the variety on display. I also seem to spend more time at the Art fair than at the Festi...

This is a traditionally Polish area, and you can still eat your fill of Eastern European treats along the Roncesvalles Avenue. You'll also find vintage stores, design, and gift boutiques, as well as many eateries, including many that cater to vegan and health-conscious residents and...
