Halton Souling Play 2020 (take 2)
The Halton Souling Play 2020 presented by The Halton Soulers.
We were unable to present the Halton Souling Play in pubs as we would normally do, so we decided to use Zoom Cloud Meetings to record the elements of the play, and stitch them together in two takes, this being the second. If you missed the first, see it here:

We would usually collect on behalf of the Halton Haven Hospice, so we ask if you would be kind enough to go to the dedicated JustGiving page and make a donation there:

(if the link doesn't work for you, copy and paste it into your browser)
Thank you!

As an 18 year old I went to see the Spinners in 1988 in Bristol. They were fab! I remember they had "Count" John McCormick on double bass. I had a very pleasant night out with my family and remember it very fondly. Sadly, Tony and Cliff are no longer with us. It's nice to see the remaining lads doing what they love and with as much gusto as they had when they were younger.

Thank you for this. It's nice to see Horwich perform Uncle Roland's as a tribute, it was always fun to dance. At least the heavens didn't open and drench you as they did at Tommy's funeral during Tommy's Star. I formed a team in California which danced for around ten years from 1997 onwards called Bufflehead. We had a significant amount of the Horwich repertoire in our dances, except for the Horwich Polka of course, and also wrote several of our own dances. Uncle Roland's was a staple, and hopefully a good tribute. Oh, we were a mixed team, but yes, we danced in irons and kept the Horwich discipline alive and well. Peter ffoulkes - HPMM 1984 - 1991

Suemuffy ... the lads are good friends of mine... it's already a year since Tony's funeral. They still sing with the same fire, not 'just going through the motions'! Must give Chris a ring and get another gig organised!

They are lined against the wall like waiting for the firing squad. Dreadful use of the space. It is a shame as the band are on good form.

Geoff Beswick Don't be daft!! The room is tiny - I had my back to the opposite wall and we had a capacity audience. The band wanted foldback monitors, but I managed to persuade them that we should manage without - or send some of the audience home again!! As for the band being on good form, they were amazing if you consider that three of them were quite ill and they had to cancel the rest of the tour.
