Leaping for MALLARDS! This Dog Has Hops! Duck Hunting 2024
The mallards just showed up to this area overnight and we were able to decoy some nice sized flocks. High winds and deep waters were a challenge we faced this morning. Gusts up to 44 mph made it a challenge to decoy birds.

This was a duck hunt from 2022, we did well and had mallards working. Next time we would push our hide back and we think the ducks would've decoyed closer. Stella learned a lot on this hunt.

Def ducky. Good morning of fellowship.
I am only a minute into this right now! And I want to share my story. When I was 11yrs old after I had been shooting trap for a yr with a Sears and Robuck 20guage single shot we found out I could hunt. Not the normal 12. My first duck shot was a beautiful drake mallard. I winged it and we had to chase it with my dad rowing across the big lake following it. It took me 10 more shots to finally kill it so we could bring it into the boat. I still remember every detail. I have that duck on my wall 50yrs later!!
Now that I have watched. Way to teach good gun safety! Was an awesome hunt! Keep talking about what you believe in. It is the way for everyone to think about life and get to be good people! Tell him Congrats for me! He will remember this moment for the rest of his life. Mount that duck for him and when he is older like me he can look back on this memory and cherish it!
