The Ladders of TMB
The Ladders section of the Tour du Mont Blanc is located between Tre le Champ and Le Flegere. This hike took place on August 31, 2023.
This is just a raw footage with minimal edit. This video covers about the first 90% of the ladders. This section of the TMB also includes the ascent to Tete aux Vents with an option to take a higher trail to Lac Blanc.

Here I am sitting in sunny Milton Keynes - 87 years old and recovering from a new knee operation, looking at this film and wondering how that I and my wife easily coped with the ladders thirty years ago. In the hut the night before we had been drinking grappa and had asked a Frenchman who had come the other way across the ladders whether we should take the easier variant or use the ladders. His reply was comforting - if you can drink grappa you can do anything.
