FRAM Extra Guard 6607/7317 Orange Can of Death now made by Champion Laboratories?
I looked these oil filters today at my local Walmart here in Québec, Canada. It looks like Fram decided to upgrade the 6607 and the 7317 with metal end caps because it is now made by Champion Laboratories. Basically the same thing as the Motomaster OE Plus sold at Canadian Tire and the Walmart's Supertech only available in the US. Strangely, the 6607 has a silicone ADBV and the 7317 has'nt. It uses nitrile rubber instead. Even more odd,I checked other Fram Extra Guard models and they all looked like Fram made filter, only these two models were different. Tell me in the comments what you think about it. 6607 fits most Mazda and Nissan cars while 7317 fits most Honda and Subaru vehicles....

Valvoline VO-106 oil filter now made by Wix?

I bought a couple of these oil filter since the last 4-5 years for my 2013 Honda Civic and my former 2001 Mazda Miata. It used to be made by Champion Laboratories and I knew it was a good, quality oil filter for a cheap price. (Around 4$ CAD, this filter was very similar to the base 10 000 miles SuperTech 6607/7317 with nitrile rubber ADBV sold in the US.) Now it's completely different, it look...

Here is my Remington (MTD) snowblower in action! Actually pretty impressive for a cheap 2 stage snowblower like this to blow heavy snow so easily. It's 24 inches wide and it has a 208cc Powermore engine. (About 6 hp) Pretty basic but it does an amazing job for the price and the quality seems to be pretty good. Very good deal at Rona for 750$. Here's the Remington (MTD) 2 stages snowblower, 24 inches wide with a 208cc Powermore engine. (Roughly 6 hp) It's not the most powerful snowblower of course, but this little snowblower does an excellent job. Plenty of power for his size. So far I'm very satisfied with it. It was a very good deal at Rona in sales at $750.

Welcome back friend. Still loving my Remington Snow Blower.!
At least they switched to Champ Labs build quality, I really like the Champ Labs made filters. E core fan I am.
@@crazybillsgarage If the 7317 had the silicone ADBV, I'd bought it right away because I know it would've been a great value for around 8$ CAD. Motomaster OE PLUS 7317 sold in Canadian Tire is exactly the same but they ask 12$ CAD for it. Nitrile rubber ADBV for this price? Hell no. I used to buy Valvoline VO-106 a couple of time, the previous design was identical (Champ Labs made) with the nitrile rubber ADBV but it was around 4$, so I knew it was a good filter and a good value for the price.
Thanks Joel , certainly looks Wix made.
@@crazybillsgarage Looks well made after all. Will maybe buy it for my next oil change on my 2013 Honda Civic. For 4.50$ it looks quite decent. Otherwise, I like Canadian Tire's Motomaster OE PLUS filters.

Dude I got mine but the manual says to put the chute on a flange and snap the holders in place, but mine doesn't have a flange, did yours? And if not how did you keep it on?

Hi Joel, how is this bike treating you nowadays? I just ordered one and I cannot wait to use it
Hey pal, thanks for update. I got mine for 750$ last year too. Still working great.
It looks like a good blower. For the snow accumulated like this, I would do half (12" )of it at a time. This will let the machine works easily and I don't have to repeat the same path. Thank you for the sharing.
It is really a good snowblower in my opinion. Yeah I know I was taking too wide but it was for "testing" the machine and showing to people how nice it works, even with a big amount of snow. This 208 cc little engine does a great job.
I forget how to get it to start
Easy, push the key, put the choke on (left side) and give 3-4 shots of fuel and 1-2 pull later it should start right up.

I bought from Rona years ago mtd machine but a smaller 179cc engine. No problem for city living with smaller diveway. The powermore engine carburator jet blocks every couple years, watch some youtube videos, it is not to hard
I've been using super tech synthetic & filters for years , never an issue
I have started using the Kirkland Oil 0W20 for my Toyota, its so much cheaper then Castrol, Mobile 1 or Pennzoil. The crooks at Canadian Tire sales Pennzoil at $69,99 (not on sale) My Kirkland cost me under $25.00 each
Walmart in Canada always has 28.88 CAD Supertech full synthetic 0W20

Those little MTD 208cc machines can do some serious work, no doubt. Great entry-level machines, or if you only get 4-8 inch snowfalls it may be all you'll ever need.
Agreed. Watch my last video I posted the last week after a 12 inches snow fall. Even with a lot of snow it still works really well for what it is. I really enjoy it,
I have a Chihuahua too. Tres Bon mon amie!
A chihuahua??😂
OMG i love this little fella, got for 750 too Rona.
Check my other videos, it does a great job I'm really impressed about it
@@joelsimard1148 any issues with it? Remember the engine is Chinese on it like most new snowblowers
@@snoopysrc No, this little engine is amazing for his size, pretty powerful. I did have a small issue with the snowblower however. I tried to adjust the cable gears because the first gear forward was a bit fast and the first gear reverse was too slow but I got the cable wire too tight and it broke the same day I touched it. But fortunately, I got a new gears wire cable for free under warranty and I put this back on with a slight play in the cable and now everything is alright. The speed works fine and the cable is ok.
Those little 208cc 24" models can rip it up when needed. Sweet vid!!
So far this little engine is amazing, for his size it blows the snow pretty far away, even the compacted, heavy snow.
It's been over a month we have this snowblower and for 750$ I think it's pretty amazing. We did an oil change after the first 4-5 hours of use. ( Both my father and I use this snowblower for our houses , since we live pretty close to each other.) So it works twice the job. Unfortunately, I had a badluck with it this week-end. I adjusted the shifter cable and I got it tighter because the R1 was useless, way too slow. But the additional tension broke the cable in the same day. Lucky for me, my local MTD service store gave my a new câble wire under warranty. I installed the new one with a slight play in it, pretty much like the first one from factory before I manage to break it lol. I don't want to break another cable lol.
@@joelsimard1148 You can more easily adjust that by moving the friction disc on the hex drive shaft. 😀
@Paul Mysliborski Well, with the new wire, strangely the first reverse speed is fast enough now. All gears works just fine so I won't touch the adjustment and hope the cable will last.
@@joelsimard1148 Awesome! Glad it worked out!! 👍🏻👍🏻
merci / thank you for the video
Do you recommend this machine ?
Yes I do, For the price I think it's a very good snowblower. And it's on sale now at 509$ at Rona
@@joelsimard1148 oui, je l ai vu, that's why i needed to know 😉👍 Merci
@@darenlausterer1214 Hahaha 🤗
@@joelsimard1148 i saw that sale and was like 'what a steal of a deal'
@@JohnK-pb6mn It was even cheaper a few weeks ago, at 510$. But with the snow storm we had the last week, it's now out of stock in every store. The local MTD store in my area sell the exact same snowblower but under the Yard Machine brand and they wants 1300$ for it. That is steal.
Is yours self propelled? How helpful is it?
Yeah 6 forward speed and 2 reverse speed. It's very useful in my opinion. For a small engine powered snowblower (Bigger ones usually have 300 cc or more.) it's pretty amazing how great it works. I recommend it. And yesterday I saw it was in sales even at a lower price than I paid. It's now 530$ at Rona instead the 850 $ regular price. You won't find comparable snowblower like this under 1000-1500$ in other stores.

These CT OE Filters made by Champion Laboratories will give Fram a run for their money! I switched over to using the CT OE cartage filter on my 2013 Camry about 2 weeks ago. Nothing wrong with Fram, but if we can get a lower priced product and support a Canadian Company i am all for it!
Champion Laboratories and Fram are the same company now, they are owned by FIRST BRANDS GROUP LLC
@@budblack3588 Yes, I became aware of that a few months ago. The FRAM cartage filters now, seem to be of the CHAMP LAB construction. I guess First Bands is illuminating product duplications, which makes sense. They need to get rid of that Extra Guard with the cardboard end caps and re brand it as a new improved filter with metal end caps like their SUPER TEC they mfg for wal mart.
