At this year's Rethink Waste Game Day Basketball Challenge, thanks to the help of many volunteers, 79% of waste was diverted from the landfill! This was Rethink Waste's highest diversion rate ever!

We scored some big wins at our 2020 Rethink Waste Basketball Game! Thanks to the help of Athletics, Concessions, Catering, Custodial Services, and more than 60 volunteers, we achieved our best diversion rate ever.

After stream restoration at the Gambles Mill Eco-Corridor, Little Westham Creek has a new floodplain! The creek is designed to flood during heavy rain so that water can spread out and flow more slowly. Ultimately, this means reduced sediment and harmful nutrients flowing into the James River.

During spring 2018, a herd of goats joined us on campus to clear invasive plants out of the Gambles Mill Eco-Corridor. Goats help reduce the need for herbicides and gas powered equipment.
