God, I wish you were my neighbor. A friend of mine is gifting me his 1979 Transvan with this exact motor, Mopar v8 360-3, which I know fuck all about engine. I'm a Journeyman electrician, not a mechanic guy. I'll need someone to review, tune it, and maintenance it before I use the RV. IF you ever plan to trip to Canada, Alberta. give me a shout. Good Afternoon, just my two cents, but I’d watch a budget rebuild video if you put it together. Anyone can build a good solid motor, or trans or diff, etc. if they have all the money in the world to spend, but it requires quite a bit of creative talent to put together a good unit when every penny counts.

The RamCharger is a more interesting vehicle than the pickups. Is there something wrong with it that I forgot that makes you want to take it apart?

Need alot of work to get it running again, friend.

With the look of that chain I would have pulled the intake off to see what that cam looked like first. Dodge used a nilon cam gears that would strip the teeth off

That chain has definitely seen better days but the engine is a nice clean one as far as oil sludge. That looks like a nice project.

Nice to see they are still running, backfire with that timing issue is nice. The weather never likes to be nice to mechanics. 38 is a nice project car, i always loved the old chrome features on them!
