Hey man I’m loving these mk6 videos. I see this is a 2 yr old video, but I’m pushing 170k on my 2013 mk6… it burns a ton of oil.. I’ve never done a dsg service or timing chain since I got it at 88k… need to do that, and my timing chain is ~6.5 … whatever that means… but I think it’s bad. How bad I dunno… but how is this whip doing since the video? Got that thing over 180 - 190 yet?

If I need to accelerate the easiest thing to do is dump the accelerator and let the transmission kick down. So far the only time I manually shift is if I am on a hill driving slowly and I want the transmission to go into a lower gear to keep the revs above 2000 rpm. In hot weather I may want to cruise at 3000 rpm to keep the air con working strong assuming the oil temp isn’t too high.

The "don't downshift when accelerating" should be adjusted: don't MANUALLY downshift if you are already accelerating. When you step on the gas, the car automatically downshifts to give you the power you requested. If you then downshift more, you will either put yourself above power band or it will simply refuse to downshift because you will exceed the redline. Downshifting in DSG if you wanna accelerate is completely cool, just downshift first, then add gas smoothly so that your turbo spools up.

TCM in your car prevents money shifting. There are programmed safeties in place, the car knows how far you can downshift, unless you have asked "a friend of yours who can do it cheaper" to tune your transmission.

Dont left brake in incline, unless need to move. Dont launch often. Dont close gap often in a traffic. Dont downshift while accelerate

Great video! I’ve got a 2011 GTI with original timing chain, fuel pump and DSG with 222,000 miles! I’ve had to replace everything else you mentioned multiple times plus fuel injectors recently.

My Tiguan just needed a new clutch pack at 103km. Very very expensive. Avoid at all costs - pun intended

You absolutely cannot money shift a Dsg or dct transmission. That's false, the car will physically and is programmed to never let you and you cannot program it out unless you have a custom tune on the dsg.

Great build man. I have a question. I recently wenybstage 2 woth a 207mm crank pulley on my s5. Initially o kept getting a squealing sound ajd ky performance was still good. In the kast 2 weeks my performance has greatly decreased under WOT and my 0to60 times went from 3.7 to now 5.1. the squealing is coming from the supercharger snout. Do you recommend i change the snout itself?

Hello, i recently started ti get this squealing sound from my S5 3.0. o was avke to pin point where it was coming from and using a mechanic stethoscope its clear that is coming from the supercharger snout. Im akso loosing power under WOT. Do you think my supercharger mught be low on oil or my supercharger snout is jad already.

Thank you for this review. I just bought and installed these on my 14 GTI Wolfsburg. There is some vibration on mine but nothing unbearable. Maybe it just takes some time to break in. But there engine movement when I accelerate pretty much disappeared. I really like these mounts so far.

hello i have a question concerning the dsg transmission, i noticed that when parking in a parking lot its hard to go extra slow for a perfect park what is the best way to drive slower when parking?

This looks like a tedious job I'm not sure what technique they use to do this on vehicles without taking the engine off and how effective it is, also how they scrape of the edges of silicon or gasket without the bits and pieces not falling into the oil pan. What would you say is a range of cost to have a shop complete this repair ? I'm going to have to do this to a 2007 Honda civic.
