If this car was being offered today (21 Feb,2013) the dealer would have pick this car up as a trade in, the MAX they would have paid would be $6100 to the previous owner. They would then put a sticker price of between $13,000 & $14,000, followed up by $640 for appearance protection, $640 for dent protection, $995 for dealer service fee, $400 for Reg/Tags/Title fee (them signing the title over to you), $200 for License fee and then your state sales tax of around $1000. You are now looking out the door paying almost, if not more then $18,000 for a car worth only between $6000 to $7000. You will be so far under water on this high mileage USED 14 year old car that it boarders on criminality, the major dealerships are legalized thieves and they're making a killing off of naive people. Before you purchase a car go to Kelly Blue Book.com (KBB.com) and look up what is my car worth on a trade in, that is the Dealer Wholesale price (MAX Price) that they will pay for this car, don't get chumped by these people.

The Kelly Blue Book Wholesale price on this car is right around $7000, this is the MAX that a dealership would pay for this car as a trade in (this was a trade in car, large dealerships don't got to auto auctions to buy). The dealership would then double the price on the sticker ($14,560), then add another $1000 for dealer prep, $680 for dent protection and another $680 for appearance protection, then charge you another $400 for tag/Title Reg fee (signing the title over to you) and last but not least $200 for license fee (what ever the hell that is). You toss in your states sales tax and you're out the door at over $18,000. I just looked at a 2013 Avalon XLE (124,00 miles), it's February 2023 and dealerships are out there ripping people off left and right for not only new cars, but 10 year old plus cars with over 100,000 miles. There is nothing wrong with a dealership making a profit, but making a killing, with you being the one getting killed is another thing. These big dealerships are thieves and when you go in there purchasing cars at these ridiculous prices, all you're doing is enabling them to keep on doing it. If you purchase this car from this dealership, you would be so under water on this car that it boarders on criminality.
