Paul Dukas - Prélude élégiaque (sur le thème proposé HAYDN)
Paul Abraham Dukas ( 1 October 1865 - 17 May 1935) was a French composer, critic, scholar and teacher. A studious man of retiring personality, he was intensely self-critical, having abandoned and destroyed many of his compositions. His best-known work is the orchestral piece The Sorcerer's Apprentice (L'apprenti sorcier), the fame of which has eclipsed that of his other surviving works. Among these are the opera Ariane et Barbe-bleue, his Symphony in C and Piano Sonata in E-flat minor, the Variations, Interlude and Finale on a Theme by Rameau (for solo piano), and a ballet, La Péri.

The Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 22 by Camille Saint-Saëns was composed in 1868 and is probably Saint-Saëns' most popular piano concerto. It was dedicated to Madame A. de Villers (née de Haber). At the première, the composer was the soloist and Anton Rubinstein conducted the orchestra. Saint-Saëns wrote the concerto in three weeks and had very little time to prepare for the première; co...

Interestingly, will I someday find the performance of Kapustin’s concerts, where the rhythm section and pianist play together in rhythm?
Fantastic piece!!
Самое любимое произведение Цфасмана!!!
a love letter to scriabin 2 and 4... the same drive to a point of ecstatic ascendance

Samuil Yevgenyevich Feinberg (Russian: Самуи́л Евге́ньевич Фе́йнберг, also Samuel; 26 May 1890, Odessa - 22 October 1962, Moscow) was a Russian and Soviet composer and pianist.
At first I thought these were 'notey" but that is their beauty. You're drawn into the kaleidoscopic world.
Superbe musique...un coup de maître génial.
J'adore et j'adhère. Merci.
If you listen to this carefully, there is so much powerful emotion throughout. Profound beauty of life, really.
This is so beautifull, Feinberg must be inspired by Medtner a lot!
This is much more inspired by early Scriabin.
@@calebhu6383 Well there is lot of influence of Scriabin, but the theme sounds kinda medtneresque and lot of harmonic lenguage is similar to medtner. for example the pssage starting in 1:31 or 4:03 and the last fex bars are very Medtnersque, maybe there is lot of Stanchinsky's influences.... But many of passages reminds me Scriabin sonata 2 or Stanchinsky's etude in b minor.
Well played❤️ Bösendörfer?
idk it's kind of muddy and the melodies aren't really clear most of the time, you mainly hear like shimmering or fairies dancing or something
you’ll get used to it and begin to see clearly
@@tornquistverlag ok
Too short!!
feels like bach goldberg variations meets nancarrow studies
What a great piece of Euclidian logic and emotional mastery! Hamelin really gives it a musical ride, doesn't he?
I’m just about to start learning this tune, wish me luck
How's it going?
This is a remarkably sensitive offering from Mayerl, much of whose output was flamboyant and ostentatious. There are significant stretches reminiscent of Rachmaninov, along with hints of Chopin. Your rubato is also really on-point. A lot of interpreters miss the purpose, and play this far too misurato, missing out on the effusive character of the piece.
1:53 - 2:10 reminds me of Barry Harris, the harmonies and voicings
1:09 the chromaticism, ahhh...
❤
reminds me of donkey kong haha
i have no freaking idea how i'm gonna play it on my graduation
Sounds kinda like Medtner.
Drummer is not that great. There are a couple times when he nearly threw off the entire orchestra and soloist. 🤦🏻♂️
I love how at 2:45 - the drummer didn't get the memo and switches to 4/4 with his f-ing dotted barlines while the rest of the orchestra is still in 3. Killer! 😂😎
Reminds me of a more psychotic version of the last movement of the 3rd sonata.I can clearly hear the fugal motive.
This is fablulous
3:07
Extremelly underrated masterpiece!
Yeah, this is like Medtner
This is quite fascinating. Some of it almost sounds like Keith Jarrett. Feinberg was way ahead of his time.
I played these three pieces on my masters degree recital at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1982. I studied with Leonard Mastrogiacomo, a brillant piano performer and teacher.
It won’t get old.

The Fugue is one of the most astonishing feats of Live piano-playing I've ever heard. It's taut, sculped, yet somehow ferocious without being undisciplined. Judd was a genius, but his demons got to him... just terribly sad.
5:30 - 5:40 is pure horror
