    Your thumbnail was extremely misleading. This is a mere single step in a good Ambitious Card routine. "Incredible control" is a bit much mate lol.

    • @TrickeryMan
      @TrickeryMan 5 месяцев назад

      Whaaaaat lol. Among other passes I've seen, I personally find it to be quite amazing. I was shocked when i first saw it.

    • @andymeyers4332
      @andymeyers4332 5 месяцев назад

      @TrickeryMan maybe I'm a bit biased. I've been handling cards and learning sleights for almost 3 decades so my standard for "incredible" is kinda high. This particular one has the issue of the actual pass itself not being a very natural movement and going from showing the faces to face down with that whole motion, it's difficult to make look natural which to me just attracts suspicion. I'm probably a pretty harsh critic but my standard for undetectable is being undetectable even to other sleight of hand artists. Us card minded folks notice everything. The weird way people hold decks and individla cards, the way some folks have a clear style of handling cards.. until they do a move that very much looks out of place with their natural handles. This move is one of them that has to be absolutely perfect. No hand movement detectable behind the face up card being shown, the drop down move being a *natural* pace.. to be fair its the drop down that I struggle to find the right pace on as well but it's always suspicious when a magician does something quicker than its usually done..

    • @TrickeryMan
      @TrickeryMan 5 месяцев назад

      @@andymeyers4332 30 years! Phew! That makes sense. I agree with you, it doesn't look 100% natural.

    • @andymeyers4332
      @andymeyers4332 5 месяцев назад

      @TrickeryMan to the uninitiated, it can look very natural provided the pacing is right. The face up to face down move is tricky because the brain tells you "if you do this too slow, everyone will see what's happening.." however one of the things I learnt about magic only after i became an adult was the simple stuff can be SOOOOO convincing. I used to think the French Drop was a garbage move because I thought it was just so bluntly obvious but as I got older and I started mucking around with it while around friends, they were gobsmacked haha. This particular move can be done in the same manner but I do think having it in the middle of an Ambitious Card routine actually aids the odd looking handling because you're actively trying to display different ways you can get that card back to the top so the suspiciousness takes a back seat due to handling the cards differently than ones natural manner only supports that you're trying to be straight up with them if that makes sense...
