I first came to The Outer Banks in 1981 on a vacation with my family. I have been infatuated with the place ever since. I love it all, from the 4X4 beach up it Carova, down south to the Island of Ocracoke.
I decided to carry cameras around with me and try and bring the obx to those who love it as much as I do but can't be here every day.

Looking for surf
This is some footage from a video I started to make about the surf from hurricane Ernesto. I was late getting out. The good surf was at sunrise and I missed it.

First thing I need to mention is that the crowd at Poor Richards is why I had to wait. The staff there is EXCELLENT. They were doing a phenomenal job serving a large crowd. I went to the beach at the Bonnett Street beach access. I also went over to the sound off the Nags Head causeway. I had lunch at Poor Richards in Manteo. It was a wonderful place fifty years ago, now it's just an overcrowded, overdeveloped beach. Yankees and tourists have invaded my North Carolina.😂😂

It doesn’t matter all that much but it should be titled Are the Outer Banks Crowded?
Maybe. The Outer Banks as a whole is one place , so is , is how I worded it. 🤷♂️
@@obxtv12 which cities/towns/areas are you referring to when you say Outer Banks? Some real estate companies consider every little town near a sound and the whole coast line the OBX. When you google Outer Banks it puts up a map that doesn’t include many of the upper portion of the coastline.
@@jambo_jackbelly The Outer Banks starts at Carova at the Va /nc line and stretches south to include ocracoke island. Anything south of there isn’t The Outer Banks.

Awe, thanks. I was on vacation. My schedule has been demanding. I’m trying to get back to a regular schedule.
It took a long time for me to get my food from Poor Richards due to the large crowd. They did an excellent job serving an overwhelming amount of people in a timely manor. I did not want anyone to think that my comments were negative. We love Poor Richards. I thought it would be easier to eat there because of location. That's what I was wrong about.
Thank you all for the continued support. Ive been on vacation but should be back to a semi regular upload schedule soon.

Ahh yea, I recall Shelley Is. as well. Big hype for the time it lasted - some schmuck trying to 'claim' it as his and a lot of idiots either driving out onto it and getting stuck when the tide came in! Ha! It was definitely a neat experience and enjoyed it while it lasted. RIP Shelly Island
I remember that guy and his claim. It was a cool experience.
I have heard about the mini golf course but never observed it until now.

I meant I waited in line. The crowd was the cause for the wait. The staff did an excellent job serving a large crowd. I also ordered a meal that had to be fried. I eat there all the time. Thank you again for watching. The food was delicious 🤤

When we were down in June, we stopped by the orange blossom but they had just closed. We will be back in Sept, and totally getting an apple ugly
You have to get there early. Sometimes they sell out. September is an awesome time to visit.

I was so fortunate to visit Nags Head and Duck in the 70s..no homes just sand dunes and beach, or and wild horses...I have been back a few times but too commercialized for me now..I'll cont watching, love the music and style..new subscriber 😊
