Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers - I'm Not A Know It All (Alternate Take)
Recorded on February 16th 1956, "I'm Not A Know It All" was written by Fred Spellman & Buddy Kaye. It was released under Gee Records in March 1956. This is the first attempt of the song before many takes formed it to the released version we know today.

Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers - Who Can Explain? (Take 3)
Просмотров 3605 дней назад
Recorded on May 2 1956, "Who Can Explain?" was written by Abner Silver & Roy Alfred. It was released during June 1956 as the flip side to "I Promise", reaching #7 on the US R&B charts. This is the 3rd take of the song from that May session and in my opinion, I think it was better than the released version due to it being more soulful and exciting. Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers - Please Be Mine (Instrumental Remake)
Просмотров 19420 дней назад
Originally recorded on December 3rd 1955, "Please Be Mine" was the first song the Teenagers recorded in their first studio session at Bell Sound Studios. It was later released as a flip side to their #1 hit "Fools" in January 1956. It became their most undermined song due to the notoriety of "Fools" but it was made to the smooth jazzy ballad we know today through the help of Jimmy Wright & His ...

*NOTE* This a repost of the video I posted on my another channel, Rugged Remaster. Shout out to my fellow Frankie Lymon fans! Recorded on December 3rd 1955, The Premiers headed to Bell Sound Studios to record "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" and left the session as 'The Teenagers'. It became their #1 hit in January 1956 and catapulted them to superstardom. With the help of Jimmy Wright & His Orchestra, the original ballad was turned into the frantic uptempo we all love today! The Teenagers - Why Do Fools Fall In Love? (Ai Acapella)
Просмотров 867Месяц назад
As you all know today marks 69 years since The Teenagers recorded ''Why Do Fools Fall In Love?'' and given that the song was made in low fidelity, this caused the background vocals to sound muffled and discreet so as a tribute to Mr Jimmy Merchant (the man who arranged all the Teenagers' vocal harmonies) and all the Teenagers fans, I've remade a note-by-note acapella version of ''Fools'' with A...

Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers - I Want You To Be My Girl (Original Version)
Просмотров 8592 месяца назад
This is the original version of "I Want You To Be My Girl", meaning that it is in its original pitch. George Goldner and the sound engineers at Bell Sound Studios must've pitched the song higher so Frankie sounded younger than he was. He probably thought the tuning of the OG version sounded off. I guess his method kinda worked haha. Hope you enjoy this one✨🙌🏾 Don't forget to share, like, subscr...

I hear Shermans deep voice in the background he was tall.
@@nathaniel8328 Yes he was, 6 ft 6 to be exact. He was 6 ft 2 in the 9th grade and his deep voice came about when he was testing a new microphone for his school's auditorium.
Sad the struggles he went through with addiction

@@faithlynn8250 He was! He had so much potential!

@@G004Morning Thank you very much🙌🏾✨
I’ve heard MichaelJackson’s singing likened to Frankie’s. Michael’s voice was thin, reedy, strained sounding; then it was doubled! Ugh. Frankie had a rich, warm, tone that filled a room naturally. No comparison in that department. Michael had the chance to develop and grow. In aspects he’s more creative. Still if there was no Frankie Lymon…..
@@fncz True, I wouldn’t beat a young Michael down that much; he was a great singer but yes he did sound strained whereas Frankie sounded more full. Frankie is very underrated as a singer.
The kid could SING!!
He definitely could, one of the greatest to ever do it🙌🏾✨

FRANKIE’S voice fills the room! He soars! Did he know how great he was?
He was famously arrogant and never shut up about how good he was, so yea....I guess....
I never heard that before. But it’s okay. He definitely left a mark in rock & roll.
Where did you learn about his arrogance?
@@israelmcclure2771 Yes you are correct, Frankie was often described by many people including his wife, Emira and members of The Teenagers as a bratty person.

I love this. It’s obvious how it evolved to the single we know so well! The lyrics are pretty lame in the second verse. Frankie’s energy is stronger on the final version. I’d guess this happened over a few sessions. Not all in one day. Plus the harmony is up front more than any of their releases. What a great photo!!

@ Thank you and yes the song was not recorded in one day. One session was on February 4th and the other was on February 16th. I also noticed the slight changes in the lyrics and harmonies, the pitch is more deeper than the original one.
I have this song on my Ipod touch I love this tune. I saw Instagram that Sherman inspired Melvin Franklin from the temptations and Michael mcrary from Boyz to men.
@@nathaniel8328 It’s one of his top songs in my opinion and yes he did!✨
He is completely out of tune - sigh.
@@killerdillr Maybe that's why George Goldner might have switched Frankie as the lead. However, I have been told that Herman used to have a very nice voice but just had a deep Spanish accent when he was a teen so I'm not really sure. Herman seems like a very timid guy.
He’s no Frankie.
@@fncz No one could ever be Frankie but this channel is not only focused on him, we’re celebrating each of the members: Joe, Herman, Sherman & Jimmy!

Why did Frankie die from a heroin overdose?
@@ElijahMoses-b8j He had been addicted for many years; he managed to stop heroin during his 2 years at the army. When he did it again that fateful night in '68, his body wasn't used to the heroin anymore so he relapsed.
