not much of a tour more like a me me me monologue
Went to Scotland last summer and loved it! Can’t wait to go back and spend more time in the Highlands. Your video was great!! A perfect summary of your week. What time of year were you travelling in?
Loved your video. Well done and thank you! 👍👍👍
💩😱
Jast sem iz Bleda .Dobro da ne vem kaksna svinarija je notri!
It's hard to understand the young lady. Where's she from?
thanks for sharing such a detail information. added couple of landmarks :)
Do you know if most of the campsites are dog friendly? Thanks 😊
Almost all of them are. Their websites should clearly mention whether or not
Nice content, I was wondering if skipping the East Coast, and spend more time on the West Coast and Isle Of Skye would be wise? My wife and I will be in the UK for 3 weeks, and we’ll be in Scotland for the final week.
Hey Ten Years
Just booked with Harry on your reccomendation. What do you suggest for a tip/payment?
Hi David! I really hope you enjoy your tour with Harry! It’s still one of my highlights to our travels. We tipped £25 euros back in 2021. Depending on the size of the group, I feel this is fair. Have a great time in Toulouse.
@@danandmarissa thanks very much, and thanks for the great video!
there is no way yous didn't stop at the whaligoe steps
Did you have to get the motor home back to Manchester in the 7 days?
Just seen this video now, have u been back since? We love the place, going back this year for the first time in 5 years, were so excited. Glad u loved it
Game keepers have no authority to move you on, theyre the types that go letting off guns yards from busy public footpaths day and night all over the peaks for their “sport”. They do more damage hunting
Great video we are planning a trip your tips are very helpful
If I was to do it again I would leave out the east and north coast all together, it’s harsh, cold and Barron. Not much to see! My advice would be to start in the trossachs and head all the way north to Durness, I’d recommend including the isle of Skye and the Isle of Lewis into your trip. There is so much to see that what you miss on the way up you can see on the way back.
Did you find you had enough time
An excellent vlog to help this old wrinkly on his way around the NC500, many thanks .... so well put together ! Just enough info.
I went there 15yrs ago with TUI on a £150 half board holiday in march... The weather was amazing... We walked round the lake. Went cross country skiing.... We caught a train to the capital.... That had great architecture... But a weird amount of graffiti
You missed Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield and Fort George near Inverness.
Oh dear your planning is a joke!... lots of amazing places on the east coast, and you missed many of them... don't give up your day job... and your advise sucks.
Birds to be hunted for sport have priority over humans? Ban hunting.
Hya loved your video ....In August I actually sunbathed on Achiltibuie beach on Summer Isles so beautiful .... its a little walk over rocks down to the soft white sand and turquoise blue sea.... 🌊 💙 blissful day .. I also adore Scotland in all weather 💙
Good advice and very respectful. Well done lads 👍🤜🤛
I m doing it anticlockwise in a few months
Have a great trip Alan! Keep us posted!! 😊
Hello. We are travel agency in Fethiye. If anybody would like to book daily tours or activities, we can help. Thank you.🤗
Was it a condition of hire to use campsites, rather than wild camp? I use campsites, but I also wild camp. As the current rate, Scotland won't be worth visiting as its going to be as bad as Wales and England.
No it wasn’t a condition. It was the first time us doing something like this so we kept it safe. In what respect do you mean won’t be worth visiting?
@@danandmarissa it's super safe to wild camp.. You might get the odd horn toot, or a Warden around the Loch Lomand areas, which many now avoid, or use campsites. Last year I spent two months in France, and because of crime towards MHs, and campervans, there were regions that I didnt visit. This is mainly the South Coast, and the Western end of the Med. Also, it's well dodgy along the North Spanish Atlantic coast. It's almost as if the local police turn a blind eye to tourist attacks, because the police move people on, and fine them, but they never catch the highway robbers. At the end of the day, no matter where you travel, bar Scotland, the police, & organised crime, and local regimes, they are all in collusion to rip off wild campers in vans and MHs. I've no idea what you're doing now, but Vanlife is the way to go, but don't go to or do what the big channels do. Less space in a large panel van, but still better than a MH. But that's another story.
@@danandmarissa unfortunately, Scotland is going the way of Wales and England. The Scottish elite has failed to provide the required service. Travel the NC500, and you find shit and toilet paper. Most of this comes from car driving tourists, even Scottish tourists. It's easy to blame campervaners and MHs. If you see Europe on one wing, and England and Wales on the other, Scotland is going to be like Wales, a total lockdown.
In Romania is Bran Castle. Some people believe that Count Dracula once lived there. He's only a Mythical & Legendary figure.

Wow great video! Got me inspired to plan my own itinerary. What time of year did you go?
Hi Stuart, we went 2021 in May 😊
7 hr 37 min (768.9 km) From Paris to Carcassonne.
Hi there, going up in August. So looking forward to it. In a hired campervan. Whats the fuel situation like? ❤
Hi Matty, there are plenty on fuel station dotted around but as mentioned don’t let your camper run too low. On the odd stretch there isn’t a station for some miles! Have a great time, I’m sure you’ll love it.
Hi, this is a great vlog! What time of year did you head off on the NC500? 😊
Hiya Molly, We went in May, we had a good mixture of weather and no midges! 😊
Thanks for a great video. ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊 hope your well
Learn about Scottish history, also learn Scot’s language. 🤨
Thanks! 😊
So the motorhome rental was about 1200 dollars US How much did you spend on Gas or Diesel to do the NC 500?
Hi, We spent around £200 on fuel at the time, I’d imagine it’s closer to £250 now with inflation.
@@danandmarissa thanks very much for responding we are planning to hire a Swift Go RV for the month of April 2025 It looks so peaceful and calming with spectacular views
Just back from doing the NC500. We did the route anticlockwise starting in the east. Went to most of the places shown here. It is absolutely beautiful (we preferred the west coast). Our weather was great. Thanks for sharing this video.
I’m glad you had a great time!! How was the weather for you?
@@danandmarissa We were very fortunate with the weather. It was sunny but not too hot. Got to see everything in all its beauty!
@@amazingScot it’s an amazing part of the world! It’s was sunny when we arrived on the west coast.
We downloaded the NC500 app. As you travel the route it tells you what to see and where to go with tons of information and helpful tips. We went in October missing the midges and a lot less people.
We’ll look out for this app next time we go! Thanks Mark!
Hi Dan & Marissa: I really enjoy your video, my husband and I are traveling to Scotland and I find this itinerary amazing, a good chance to feel the real Scotland. We are arriving at Edinburgh on July 10th, and want to leave 3 days at the end for Edinburgh, it's our first visit to Scotland. We are from Argentina so we are not used to driving with the wheel on the other side, do you think we will find it very stressing? Can it be crowded during July? At what time of the year you did this trip. I'm concerned about mist and fog.
Hi, Only 2 days until your holiday! we travelled in May and the roads were fairly quiet. It’s not quite the school holidays either so you shouldn’t hit the main holiday period. Just take the driving slow and steady, follow the signed and down drive down the narrow roads unless your in a car! Have a great holiday 😊
Best video ever saw on NC500. Planning this for September 2024. Thanks very much for the well informed vlog..
Thank you Laurence, glad it helped 😊
Hi Thanks this video is so helpful and well put together.also good with the map..
Thanks Bob! Hope you enjoy the trail.
I don’t eat deep fried foods. I wish i could find decent vegetable soup and fresh steamed fish.
Hi Kay, there is plenty of restaurants along the way but we were on a bit of a budget for the trip. Also we had the camper to cook what we wanted!
So far this video is the best showing great sceneries of Scotland. I want to know if we need to pay cash to most restaurants?
Hi Kay, Most restaurants take card, even the most remote ones had internet and phone signal 😊
Which month did you go there.
We travelled in May 😊
Great video, given me some ideas
Thank you Martin! Hope your well 😊
stealth requires not trying to camp at tourist overlooks. duh.
Wild not stealth Gerard! 🥷
love it, i used to work in Toulouse, the best time of my life, really miss it . the relaxed lifestyle, food people etc.
Great video ee are planning to do it over 10 days in September /October
You will have a fantastic time, I wish we had that little longer to enjoy the route. Have a great trip!
@@danandmarissa I think we will need waterproof clothes and skin in Oct 🧐
😅 maybe!! 🌧️
Did you use a sat nav or google maps to find your way around the NC500 ?
Hi Rebecca. We used Google maps for the whole trip and it never let us down 😊
@@danandmarissa that’s brilliant thank you
