One is the co-creator of critically acclaimed AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, and he is also the writer of series like She Could Fly, Briar, The United States of Captain America, The Mask: I Pledge Allegiance to the Mask, Plastic Man: No More, and the Eisner-nominated Doctor Doom series.
The other is also Eisner nominated, and is the creator behind titles like Harrow County, B.P.R.D., The Stone King, and The Lonesome Hunters.

Great interview, and deep dive into one of the best there is. I'm gutted that Amazon Video ended Paper Girls after 8 episodes, but thankful it was brought to life at all. Wow, Saga will eventually be 18 volumes! I'm up to date digitally - but only have the first 6 physical tomes. The remainder are always on my wishlist.
We think most BKV superfans agree that Hollywood has *mostly* done Brian dirty with his adaptations. Just glad we still have him writing comics for us!

I'm struggling to think of a more impressive premiere by a comic creator than Beneath the Trees. Pitch perfect execution of an insanely entertaining premise. It's the best series currently published and has huge crossover potential for new comic readers. Very exciting book and artist.
Loving the content, Chris -especially this episode. I think you both made an outstanding point about intentionally leaning into indie films when we're so used to the box-office blockbusters. Indie films often tell stories that mainstream media companies might perceive as "risky" in their final product -not to mention they have to get creative with their much smaller budget. Indie films walk so the bigger movies can run.
Thank you so much! These major blockbusters are "cover your a$$" failsafe moves by the studios, but they keep forgetting to ALSO make smaller movies with interesting up-and-coming directors. Let's get back to that.
