This topic is seriously relative and relatable stuff! I wish more people challenged and talked about this stuff. Yes, we have free will, and yes alcohol and marijuana and pre-marital sex is legal, but…I ask myself if it helps me to be better at following God’s will. I ask if it makes me a better person. I ask if missing out on the experiences will lead me to a loss of joy. It’s tough when you’ve struggled with all of it and have that addictive tendency. But the hole inside of me couldn’t be completely filled with any of those things. It has been and can be with Jesus. I think there are certain situations where certain drugs/alcohol have a medical purpose whether it’s mental health related or physically related, but it’s very specific situations. Most of the time you’re better off without, than with, in the long run. When it comes to premarital sex, I think it’s something that’s tough to stray away from once you’ve given in the first time. But, with the healing nature and forgiveness of God, one is able to resist and push away and ultimately completely forget about it when they focus on their relationship with the Lord. And suddenly it becomes a non-issue. Instead, you can align with God ‘s given will for marriage and waiting until then when the right relationship comes on His timing; the relationship that matters and that counts. At least, it’s been that way in my experience.
