I had no idea we could make items in the Sims!?

I’m doing the not so berry challenge right now but I have my lifespans on long so I can keep track of all the townies so my sims can look like they aged up with them (same age) but now ill just put it on short for a bit cuz they TAKE to long to AGE UP😭😭😭😭

I just want a new franchise from a whole other company. I don't care for or want them to fix the sims because they've had 10 years to do that and never had, so i don't care about this lame game, it's a dead horse and a loss cause. Also, fixed or not i'm not interested in it either way, they could come in tomorrow announcing the game will be perfectly bug free and i still would have moved on because when i sit and really think about it i hate the vibe in this game... I don't like much about it. I liked sims 2 and to some extent 3 but i hate the general vibe around sims 4. Just corny.

I love the no one is waiting to beat you up for using cheats! I cannot play without MCCC or UI extension cheats. i just can't. Also I hate babies so much that I always age them up to toddlers. The teen years alway get me too I need to just shorten that stage.

5:36 with UI Cheats you can refresh the wants until u get better ones and most mods that added to the wims system have been updated to the wants and fears system.

I always make plotlines for my next heir when they're a kid, and have them follow these overly dramatic thing. My current heir is an actress who cheats on her spouses, and kills them when she's done with them.

Whenever it gets boring in my current legacy household I freeze time and play with the sibling family of my heir for a bit til I feel like going back. This way the other members’ lives get expanded but it doesn’t feel like I missed much in my other household

I really enjoyed the Sims 3 and I only had two packs but with the Sims 4, I have soo many packs and none of them can keep me entertained for more than one play through 🥲

Something I do is I disable packs. After a gen or 2, I add a pack or 2 and plan that gen around those packs, so for example I add City Living and Get to Work so I have a set of cousins who move to the city, one to become a City Native and one to get an active career. I also have a rule. Unless it is for a storyline, I don't allow my sims to have kids until they are half way through young adult at the earliest since I tend to only have 1 or 2 kids a gen. If they have kids too early, my next gen is young adults before their parents are even half way through being a regular adult.

This was really helpful!! I was so into this game as a teenager, but these days I mostly only build houses and get bored so easily with gameplay. These ideas all seem like they can help me actually enjoy playing the game again though :) thanks!

I think something that helps me get a little more into gameplay is when I don't let myself get too attached to my sims. Because I will spend hours upon hours making a cute sim only to not want to lose them or have them get old and die, so I turn off aging. The less time I spend individualizing everything so it's absolutely perfect, the easier it is for me to play through a story line as well.

I’ve just recently realized that since the skills don’t scale with long life so My legacy could achieve everything in 2 generations Plus I had to play a mod off save until mods are updated so that becomes a new soon to be abandoned legacy 😅

You can cancel the wants with ui cheats :) just click the want and choose ”re-roll” and it canges

let me state an obvious solution if you're not having fun with the sims 4: just don't play it. don't embrace the sunken cost fallacy. don't buy another DLC. if the base game is not even a skeleton of gameplay why should people buy 1000 dollars of added content? the sims 2 had a better base game and this was 20 years ago. it's not a matter of resources from the side of the developer nor a matter of personal taste. the sims 4 is objectively bad. they just don't want to make a better and modern/innovative version of the sims in a time when you can download games that are objectively better for free (!) instead. EA actively said they don't want to make "the sims 5". why? because they want to continue to milk this cash cow that is the sims 4. love yourself, don't play this

700ish bucks in and yeah, it still is boring as rock and super bugged. I stopped buying their crap since For Rent, it's useless and it only makes the game worst. TBH I wish I could get all my money back and become a pirate but at this point... meh.

UiCheats lets you right-click and re-roll wants just real easily. Also, if you have testing cheats enabled you can just shift-click this in and then re-roll their their wants.

I have all the DLC for this game, it's so embarrassing to admit but I do lol. 🙄 I've decided very recently after the release of the last expansion pack, Life & Death, that I'm no longer going to buy another pack until they do something to fix the game. Which means that I'll probably just play it as is. I think that EA broke the ghost life state by giving us a ghost occult. Why do ghosts need to eat, sleep, pee. Ghosts should never have had these Needs. It's crazy. What do you all think? 🥺😭 I play on console so there are no mods for me. The men's clothing category is so "Woke" with gender neutral clothes options which really boils my butter. EA should just give us what we want and what we ask for. It's like they don't even care and they'll produce only what they want. Where are the cars, the fairies, the robbers, the excitement of Sims 3, where is it? Smh in dismay.

Don't believe in the sunk cost fallacy of how much money you've spent so you MUST have fun, if you are not having fun naturally there is litterally no point in opening up the game. I am not saying don't try a challenge, I have a short one going now I am enjoying but continuing to force feed yourself play sessions that lead to boredom is not good.

what annoys me the most is the fact EA leaves everything to the community, bugs, the community will fix it, cas, gameplay. Its all us, they don't put effort anymore since we will eventually fix it, wich is bad for console players but there isnt much we can do (luckly I didnt pay for shit, I refuse to spend so much money on a broken game)

I made a sims to get the reaper rewards, and made her live a life aside from completing the rewards objectives. She got children, and her two oldest are now used to test the Life and Death pack, and a new generation is there. I think I'm gonna turn this into a legacy challenge, so this video arrived at the perfect time! I think it really helps to have long term objectives other than the aspiration ones, so you have to juggle between the two

"Dont open the game with nothing in your head" I could not agree with this more! I'm a big history nerd, so I like to play my own variation of the decades challenge. I keep track of their family tree, outline rules for what they can and cannot do based on the time period, and keep track of the specific year to add more challenge. I found a Sims 4 Random Event Generator on blogspot and it has added that extra drama to the game. My child sim recently died in a car crash and that completely derailed my plans. Now I'm having even more fun trying to plan around that Have a general plan, but also allow things to go wrong. Thats how I've gotten suckered into playing the game for 5 hours straight just today lol

Some of your heirs will be flops, just find sims in their family you love and play with those until you can move onto the next gen. I am on Gen 20 of my legacy, they are aging up into YA today. My first 12, I played my Ascendant Legacy challenge and it was so easy to stay consistent. Now i struggle to find ideas on what to do with my sims, I started Sweetest Berry but I don’t really enjoy legacies with pre-written storylines, so I am playing and keeping notes to write my own potentially. You really have to love the sims you are playing with so play your way, if you want to keep a fave alive then do it and age them down until you’re ready to let go and move on. I barely played my Gen 9 and kept 8 alive with 10 cause I just didn’t really care for 9. Gen 11 died as a YA so I just kept playing with his wife and Gen 10& 12.

I have this issue before. I read all from that bug page and at the very last comment, if I can recall someone already fix it this issue using a mod for Off-the-grid to work again. I download the mod and then boom it works that, there is also an issue with interaction with dolphins and it's the same person who fixes the issue.

I wanted to build legacy families (10 gens). My mistake was allowing all the families to have 5+ children. Now I can’t keep up with who’s related and who’s dying.😮

I am the weirdo who play a custom long lifespan with. With teens I really focus on their relationships so that they have friends they naturally has as kid/teen. I try to not skill max for sims who I don't think would Skill Max. I have a Sim save on Normal and it feels way to quick for me..😢 Don't know how people play on SHORT. I also try not to make every Sim a perfect student anymore. Or perfect at all. Some Sims reach the top of skills and careers, some don't. I intentionally give them at least one imperfect trait like slob or something. The goal is too have fun with their life, I am open to what that means. Also vacations, vacations, vacations. The game gives us vacation days. Use them!!!

Different story but same context as you about it being buggy. few days ago, i have a legacy save where i played in simple living challenge lot and in this save file, the gen 1 are strictly prohibited to get real jobs, just focusing on farming and ranch stuffs, one does the farm and ranch stuffs, the other keeps the family afloat by running bakesales with the produces that my farmer sim has proudly took care of. It was going well few hours in, until when on a random day when one of my mini goats got dirty, i clicked it to clean the goat(her name was Caramel🫶🏻) my sim somehow cannot clean her, like he just stops, doesn't do anything, zero, nada, zilch. Like it auto cancels for some reason, then i tried to sold the goats and bought new sets of goats and the problem still persists. Then i tried it on a cow (immediately bought an animal shed for testing, i had to sacrifice my horse stable smh) AND IT'S THE SAME, I CAN'T CLEAN THE COW IT AUTO CANCELS FFSSSS. Then when i tried my other save files for testing, IT WORKED I CAN CLEAN THE COW AND THE GOATS. I immediately went to cas, save that legacy farm gen 1 family to my gallery, and start a new save

My personal tip would be: try to say no to the grind. In my experience I get bored when I get too focused on the goal I have for these sims. The burn out system actually helps a little bit, but sometimes it still doesn't hit fast enough. I like to create holidays in the calendar that have my sim focused on self-care, summer activities in the summer, winter activities in the winter and so on. And outside of that, I try to have my sims have some semblance of morning routine (brushing their teeth, take a shower and change into normal clothes instead of staying in their pajamas the whole day), if it's a close family, have breakfast as a family... These change based on the family dynamic a lot. Maybe the parents are lazy and distant and the teen takes it upon themselves to make sure their younger siblings eat. Maybe the teen is going through their rebellion phase and will only eat in their room. Or insist on spending their pocket money on ordering pizza for breakfast, because the food mom cooked is "gross" to them. Telling stories is the reason I play the sims. Having sim paint all day doesn't contribute to their story. It's the little things in between. If things get too stale, it's time the family goes on a vacation. Or maybe these sims scoff at normal, scheduled vacations and just take their tent and travel around, sleeping in random places. Staying in the home lot all the time can stop being fun pretty quickly. So I definitely agree with downloading different lots. There's so many creative lots in the gallery. And by the way, this is me talking as someone who loves to max out everything I can. I'm not necessarily anti-grind, but I try to do it in moderation.

I can't believe there's a bug about this. I tried it and I changed my mind before quitting the game. I was so lucky that I didn't broke my saves.

Off the Grid and Simple Living tend to cause issues in a save. So, I always avoid them. So many features of packs are broken and rarely fixed. Or the supposed fixes break new things, like fishing in Sulani which has been broken since the Lovestruck patch. The game was buggy from the start and wasn’t designed to carry so much DLC, but they’ll keep it running to milk the cash cow until it breaks completely.

oh my god.... i started a new save back in the first week of the reaper rewards and my sim was living with the off-the-grid challenge and i remember when i went back to play for the second week it just kept on loading forever, so i restarted it SO MANY times and i kept on searching everywhere to find what the issue was and i never got it. i actually thought it was the grimophone that was broken so i took it off my build, and the infinite loading screen came back anyway. i tried so many different things, every week i'd have to start all over again and when i tell you i got SO pissed off when i realized it was off the grid that was the problem.... and i remember not long after ea posted a thing with all the bugs ? i think ? and this wasn't there, so i thought it was just my game that couldn't handle off the grid for some reason... i'm glad to see i wasn't the only one who this happened to
