    Your explanation regarding creating animation system design diagram is good. But it is very difficult to see video in 16 inch laptop because only main content you are showing in 70% , rest is your face and extra unnecessary content. Try to upload whole main content as 100 % and show your face as one of the corner so at least we can see main content properly.

    This technology has gone long way. But, how does it compare to Azure IoT edge. We can see a lot of overlap as far as how we connect devices to the cloud. Do we write edge modules or we start using Akri and connectors. We would like to see contrast and comparison. This is very important for many companies out there that are just starting.

    How do you go about deploying the Helm chart and Terraform bundled together. Resources that Terraform will be managing are crucial prereqs for the Helm Chart app. This includes managed identity, secret vault, RBAC, etc. All resource ID known only at creation time would need to be referenced in the Helm chart. All of this needs to work in the Gitops way.

    How did the connection between the Azure account and tf controller work? How can the TF controller running in the K8s cluster authenticate to the Azure account and perform this task? Is it done at terraform level where we specify a service account or can we ask terraform object in k8s to use a specific service account?

    • @ChanwitKaewkasi
      @ChanwitKaewkasi Год назад

      Hi Amit, In your case, the connection between the Azure account and the TF controller is established via Azure's client ID and client secret, which are specified within the Kubernetes (K8s) Terraform object. Here's how it works: 1. The Azure client ID and client secret are stored in Kubernetes Secrets, which is a K8s object that lets you store and manage sensitive information. 2. These secrets are then used in the `runnerPodTemplate` spec of the Terraform object in the K8s environment. In the `env` field of the runner pod `spec`, you specify that these secrets should be used as environment variables (`ARM_CLIENT_ID` and `ARM_CLIENT_SECRET`). 3. The tf-runner pod, when it gets deployed in the cluster, reads these environment variables and uses them to authenticate with Azure. So, effectively, you're instructing the Terraform controller running in the K8s cluster to use a specific Azure service account (represented by the client ID and secret) when interacting with Azure. This is not done at the Terraform level directly; rather, it's done at the K8s level by specifying which service account the Terraform controller should use when running. Terraform itself is agnostic to where its variables come from, in this case it just reads environment variables which are populated by Kubernetes from the Kubernetes Secret.

    Great demo! How do we keep data consistency between nodes for influx DB when a single node fails? Is our Graphana running redundantly as well and is highly available -> spread across all 3 nodes?

      Hi, thanks for checking out the demo. InfluxDB is not HA, but you could use a PV with Longhorn maybe. We are open for contributions and we would like to continue improving the sample. Regarding Grafana, it's running on the Windows host OS, so no Pods/Kuberentes, although we could move it to a pod in future iterations. Thanks, Francisco

    • @iNekdima
      @iNekdima Год назад

      @@franciscocabrera3039 Thanks for coming back to my comment! In the demo you show that the application continues to run after you shut down node number 3 WITHOUT data loss. My questions is - "How do you achieve 'no data loss' if data is not being written to multiple intances of InfluxDB across all 3 nodes?" So if we're 'unlucky' and the host with Graphana crashes we also loose the dashboard, there is no HA. Do I get it right?

    Thank you for the useful video. I never considered Powerpoint as a diagramming tool but will give it a try. One thing I'd like to know is what you normally mean by the direction of the arrows - is it data flow, is it invocation flow? Would you have a mix of the 2 in one diagram? Thanks

    • @azurearcjumpstart
      @azurearcjumpstart Год назад

      Thx Sarina! Like many things, it depends but usually, yes, it's the data flow or request direction between two components. I have no issues with mix 2 in 1, as long as it makes sense. Putting text on top of the arrow usually helps a lot.
