Forgot about this one, First run of the big motor on track and first time at Mallory since 1992, bit nervous at start but a few laps behind the marshall's to get a feel for how it runs, then let it rip.

Guaranteed to mess the jetting up, been there, done that 😂
This was version 3 and the best, didn't want to mess the jetting which was perfect with the race can, but this was just a bit of fun, have a full factory cr gearbox in it so the low speed jetting issue wasn't a problem, great fun to ride with and awesome sound on full pipe.
Ok cool, i had a neta race pipe on mine, it gave a flat spot at around 4 thousand, i just learned to put up with it 😊
Great vid, I have an FZ750 Race bike I am getting ready for next season (I'm 55) Would love to see more of the bike, pits, and friends. I love everything that goes with racing just as much as the actual racing. Cheers!!
I remember in 06 going over the mountain on a modified cbx750... absolutely brilliant
I love fz 750 ❤
Tres Bien!
Hello Paul. How are you ? Do you have the video of the first session where we had the end of the run together ? Steven 😉
Hi Steven, all ok and home now. I'll check to see if I have it. rgds Paul
Sounding really strong and you weren't to shabby either😂
Thanks, 1st time on it after doing some mods to the bike that made it much easier to ride, much nicer ride now.
❤amazing buddy 👏👏👏👏👏
Thats the biggest hack job ever!
Brilliant !bike sounds great don’t go so close to the paint at your age!!🏍👌
Awesome buddy.
Even up against bikes with more raw power, AFAICS, the handling advantage gives you the edge... I've had one of these for 22 years now kept mainly outdoors under a cover so it "went off" quite badly, and I was going to change it, but I realised I simply didn't want a different bike, so 15 months and about 700 quid later, It's a lot cleaner, all the gross problems and most of the little ones are completely solved, (properly!) and I'm just a tank clean and a respray away from being back on the road. Mine has T.Scott engraved on the engine, and it's top speed is beyond what the instrument can indicate. I wish I could find out what it's history was. I'm sure it must have been a "winner" in it's day, it sure has been a winner for me. It makes me look so good & competent that a policeman let me off after losing a chase to me, which I didn't know was happening. (Because when I give the "genocide" the beans, I don't look at the speedo or the mirrors, I'm trying desperately to look at tiny things in the far distance!) Now I need glasses, so my days of super speeding are over I guess, unless I can master contacts... I do ride a bit like this guy, take the same sort of overtaking opportunities, etc. (when I'm feeling feisty, and conditions are suitable) but he is way faster and lower and more competent than me. Can I ask, how stock is your bike? Do you get that angle of lean & speed on stock wheels and tyres?
Hi, bike not stock at all, highly modified, engine and chassis.
I had an "87" FZ700 pure sports Genesis 5 valve . I miss that screaming bee 🐝
oh c toi qui avait un pot d arracheur on t entendait bien
Thank you for your presence on the Plouay circuit, and for having exchanged a few words on the bike and its preparation. Hope to see you next year!!!
👍, yes I will be there next year, great event.
super , qu'elle belle métrise
Nice sound 👍.
Awesome
Quick shifter Logitech??
Healtech shifter and R6 slipper clutch, transformed the bike.
Nice one Dibbs, that motor seems much quicker than before, its singing! You still got it mush.
Cracking ride as always mate and a nice little sneaky pic of an rrsp in the last frame for all us 400 lovers out there 👍🏼
Love the 400's as well, my friend had a cbr400rr there in track mode, and I help his son who races a rvf400.
Good ride buddy sill got it 👍👍
Great ride! I liked the moment you pulled in to the Ducati!
Came here for views of the bike. The thumbnail was promising. 🤔
Got some nice side on photos but unfortunately can't attach any to the reply sorry, but bike runs thunderace front/rear forks wheels, side on braced frame, rvf400 lower radiator fitted in the front of the fairing to increase cooling, motor is 961cc, built to my specs.
@@pauldavies8371 Thanks for the reply and no worries. Any pics online somewhere? I've got a pretty strong love for the Eddie Lawson 86 Daytona winner so I'm always looking at/for something like yours. Cheers!
Changed the thumbnail to side on. Exhaust was new for last year and a big improvement on the old+meets latest circuit noise regs. Just doesn't look as good as the old one.
@@pauldavies8371 Thanks! It's so tiny tho... I can tell it's well cared for.
Had two of em. Red countershaft main bearing failure on both 😢 that 5 valves per cylinder was an awesome sound back then. Even bone stock
That was some ride! What tyres are you running? I'm contemplating buying one of these. Is it easy to get a 17" wheel upfront?
Thank you, so running conti race attack, soft front and medium rear on 17" wheels back and front. I run thunderace front and back end. Plenty of choice for wheels, best change the rear to 17" as well for best tyre choice.
@@pauldavies8371 I'm also a fan of the Conti race attack! Do you have a blog or a place where you describe the mods on your bike?
@@johnherrinck5405 you on facebook ?
@@pauldavies8371 Yes, but rarely used : John Kat
That guy at 6:50 trying to get his knee down prob thought he was the bollacks and then he got annihilated by an old man on an old bike! I'm still laughing. Nice one dude.
Just found this mate, excellent stuff! I love the way you "done" some of those youngsters on obviously quicker bikes. That was a treat. Are your brakes up to it or is it just me? Seemed like you had to brake very early for the hairpin. I'm gonna watch the IOM one next.
What is this exchaust ?
I had this bike when i was 18 ! In early 90is , I remember engine sound to this day .
Same!
mine was blue.....I got to confident...so it had to go...loved that bike
Brilliant I’ll let the boys in Gower timber know 👍🏍🍺
Fun ride mate, sound is really choppy which is a shame as FZ is sounding great.
Think it's picking a lot of vibration up from where it's mounted off the throttle, I'll see if I can sort in the winter.
I can tell you are having fun. I have one, and its driving me crazy getting it to actually work. The vid is a bit of inspiration to keep trying. Oh, I love the IOM, but right now in the far east.
So cool to see the street bike with a pipe passing up all the older race bikes!
That pass from 9:45 to 9:50 - you just walk right past as soon as it's safe - fantastic!
Dude you were shredding that. I had the exact bike with the half-fairing, my favorite one with the white/blue/yellow Tariff bike close behind. Heavy but GREAT.
brilliant riding. That the owners club tent you returned to ?
Yes it was, nice display of fz750's.
If only that windscreen was not tinted! Great ride!
i just love fz 750 there is some in finland stil and maby 1 more mine on next summer
Had one ... loved it!
Brilliant ride mate nice to see someone still piloting the old girl as she was intended I had an identical 88 one imported from the I.o.m I was forever being pulled on it because x reg had just come out and my plate was Y750MAN all the young bobbies in Kent thought I’d stolen and rung it 😂 alas she ended up pushing the passenger seat into the drivers seat on a Mazda 323 when an 84 year old turned in front of me still I managed to ride my mates ZZR1100 back from A&E the next day when they let me out him on the back holding my crutches Getting slapped in the face by my sling me getting slapped in the face by my arai only having one visor pod still attached and my collarbone getting a suntan still your only young once arn’t you 🙄
Did you boost your engine ?
nice sound !!
AWESOME
love this video
parade my arse
You'll get few looks.
yes Dibbs!!!
nice bike man i have a black 600
were you using a 127 # plate?
Yes, although that wasn't the parade number, it was just left on from a previous crmc parade meeting.
A bit rusty my ass!! Maybe or the fz 600 was just that far superior haha. I had fun watching your video. I can't wait to get my 86/87 fz running.
dibbs!!!!! wow. as a young lad growing up, you were the coolest guy i knew, other than my father of course!! and was that straw dog in the paddock at the beginning? i was only a nipper then but the memories of workshops and vans, race bikes and swearing all come back to me. the smells and sights, the sound and excitement. fucking ace man!!!!
