Have had the AX8 since 2017. Worth the money spent on it. Still going strong
I heard it doesn’t get anymore updates. Is it still worth it in 2024?
@@esekram.mp3 The patches are still good. No new firmware since 2018. But if you're looking to get something new in 2024, you might as well go for the FM9. Or consider a Quad Cortex.
Sound almost identical on this type of guitar type.

Na minha opinião trata se do mesmo equipamento os efeitos dinâmicas maneira de programar e parâmetros são os mesmos então o som vai ser exatamente igual se ajustar os mesmos parâmetros, o que vai diferenciar é ajustar parâmetros que vão além da ax8 o que ela proporcionar de recursos aí vc terá algo bem diferente que na ax8 não seria possível por causa das limitações
so many demos of these units are modern heavy metal sound. seems weird that that seems to be what most of these users play. almost impossible to tell any tone difference from one unit to the other. some differences but very subtle
fm9 is huge

I have both...in this vid the only real audible difference is that the AX8 is a bit more raw sounding...in my experience the FM9 has a more refined sound and more dense and better definition. The main thing is the more responsive feel and versatility of the added features. AX8 is still a great device.

@@juliangil3912 I am sure you are an amazing player- likely far better than me...though I have a couple decades more of playing on you. It's just that you played that one riff over and over and over so it failed to make your point. You should have mixed it up a bit. Your version of The Haunted sounded good- you could have added that and maybe Broken Wings. My point is/was the FM9 has new dynamics and more tones that not only sound fuller with Cygnus but also respond better and have better dynamic range. A single riff really does not demonstrate this. The newest firmware also makes the fonts huge- also helpful for someone who has "decades" on you. Tip: Protect your eyes and your ears. You play well though. Not really my genre but good. Challenge yourself one day to learn some jazz. I know you hate it now- but do it for 5 minutes once a month starting today. You would be surprised that you might like it- you would learn a lot (modes, scales, fundamentals) and you can carry that back to your heavier style of playing and really stand out from the pack. When I first took lessons I was sure I only wanted Rock and Blues. My Berklee instructor asked one question- "How do you know?" I did not have an answer for him. I also quickly realized how poorly I played. Back then I thought I played well- hard riffs, really fast, lots of distortion. Now I realize I do not...but I can play unplugged for 2 hours...in the dark. Cheers!

I’m gonna be sticking w my Ax8 due to its price point tho I know the fm9 owners here will say it’s such a huge difference between those 2 but really the Ax8 is already way overkill for my simple needs
