I am not a rye guy. A local store has the Hardin's Creek Boston, Clermont and Frankfort 200 ml bottles that came as a set, marked up to at least $55 each. Tempting, but I will likely stick to my budget of $22 to $32 for 750 ml. I have found I most like the bourbons made in Clermont and Louisville, Kentucky. I got a $120 bottle of Open Doors by J Mattingly in Frankfort as a gift after tasting 6 of their bourbons and ryes, very good but more than I ever pay myself. Several reviewers also like the Glenn's Creek bourbons from Frankfort, next to Castle and Key.

Bob Dylan is pretty much retired musically but his bourbon is new and good. Chris Stapleton is still active with new music, but most think his Traveller whiskey is more of a shelf decoration than for drinking.

Some liked the 200 ml Hardin's Creek Boston, Clermont and Frankfort 3 bottles set a lot. A store near me separated them and the Clermont is marked up to $55, the other 2 more. I limit my spending to $40 for 750ml, so I will only try it if given to me as a gift. I recently got the Green River Full Proof from my son for Christmas and he bought it on sale for $40, I do plan to rebuy it again if I can find it again for $40, $10 off the retail price. My other 4 rebuys are 100 proof Old Grand-Dad, 100 proof Early Times, 100 proof Coopers' Craft, and 90 proof Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. Heaven's Door seems a lot higher quality than the Traveller whiskey from Chris Stapleton.

We drive to Lebanon, KY to visit my wife's parents about every 2 weeks. We pass the huge Jefferson's distillery not finished yet, the Yellowstone bar and blending buildings, and see the huge Bulliet distillery in the distance. I prefer distilleries in Clermont and Louisville making Old Grand-Dad, Early Times, Coopers' Craft, and Bernheim Original, however I have not tried every possibility like most, and if it costs more than $35 a bottle I avoid it.

Nice video! Maestro Dobel (more vanilla”esk” on my pallet) and Gran Centenario Cristalino (citrus /apple”y”) are outstanding. Herruadura is the best value in my eyes if you’re just getting into the cristalino scene.

That was very informative but, I thought all American whiskey had to be aged in new oak barrels. Also it would be nice if you tasted them and told us the differences.

A store in downtown Frankfort yesterday was sold out for Castle and Key bourbon, that costs less and is less aged for how it tastes than the Glenn's Creek bourbon still on the shelves, made a few hundred feet north of Castle and Key. The best deal I saw was for a three bottle set at the Castle and Key gift shop, $120 for their bourbon, rye and gin. 750 ml bottles.

Hey I appreciate the video as I enjoy this Bourbon brand. However, I believe your information is flawed. I own a Calumet 12yr in the old style bottle. When I was looking to buy it I went to the Calumet site first. Once there I read about all the available expressions and 14yr is still available. As a matter of fact, TW&More has it on shelves. Upon further research I discovered it is the 12yr that is discontinued. They are tough to find and delicious. Cheers

good info and thank you, so i was wondering about there nas, i heard anywhere between 3 to 7 years for the select can be used is this right? is bourbon legally suppose to be at least 3 years old or 2? also the column still is only a product made at the owner company where they use woodfor in there blend? if so what are the names of these whiskies? and why do they mention this because it confuses me as i know woodford only uses pot stills so why mention the use of column by the owner company?

I thought the ultra anejo tasted like weak tequila with syrupy sweet additives and the finish tastes like toothpaste. Not a fan.
