Hi Mary! When you finish your heel flap you should be set up to pick up the gusset stitches on the left side of your heel flap. Your pattern should tell you how many stitches to pick up. Typically, it will be one stitch per row knitted. Then, you’ll knit across the top of the foot of the sock. Finally, you’ll pick up the gusset stitches on the right side of the heel flap and across the bottom of the heel: one round. Knit around the stitches once and then begin the gusset decreases.
