@@Giorobot New problem: About two months ago, the belt sort of shredded along one side (I heard a tink tink tink under the hood). Me and a buddy of mine replaced it. The pulleys sounded and felt fine. That's when he noticed the belt riding off the edge of the idler pulley (the one below that coil spring) by about 1/16 of an inch. I bought the car about two years ago so I figured it would probably be good for another two years. Now two months later the new belt broke. I just finished replacing it today and now the belt is riding almost halfway off the pulley! I even tried taking the pulley off and turning it around and it made no difference. I ordered another pulley even though this one still sounds and feels fine. Sure hope that does it because I'm broke now after the tow truck bill. I'm thinking of putting some washers behind the pulley to see if that helps if the new pulley doesn't. Any thought?

@charlesrichards5389 ok is belt riding off towards inner side or the outer edge? Caz it can be that the pulley bracket it's off or loose if am not mistaken that's the bolt that secures both pulley and alternator

@@Giorobot Outer edge. The pulley bracket appears to be held on with a bolt which serves as a pivot, and it's tight.

@@Giorobot I just put everything back together again and noticed something that I overlooked: The bottom "idler" pulley still has belt overhanging the outer edge, AND the front "tensioner" pulley has belt overhanging the the inner edge! I didn't notice this before because the tensioner pulley is obscured by the air duct. So hopefully, I can replace the assembly's pivot bearing (for lack of a better word) without having to buy the entire assembly. Edit: Just bought the entire assembly on Amazon for the same price O'Reilly's is charging for just the idler pulley. Wish me luck.

Sounds like you need a new tentioner the reason why the last one snapped or you have too much oil in the front cover so my point is that if you have a weak tensioner your belt could be slipping thus creating friction wich causes it to spark or like another guy mentioned in this comment section there's a metallic spray pain that will fix the spark but I do suggest you to change your tentioner first I feel like that's gonna fix it

@@Giorobot The belt snapped because of an AC compressor issue causing a lockout, so both the belt and compressor are new. Okay, I'll have it checked.

@thelastairvinder4240 absolutely if there's fuel vapor or everything lines up just right I will set it on fire so make sure you shut it off when fueling

Am sure there's more than one way to do this , am only sharing the way I did it with what I had but I will check out how you did it it may be helpful next time ... post your link

Ok when you bought the turbo am assuming it came with its housing so there's a chance the mechanic only check the output side what I would do I start by removing the oil cap and start the car to see if stays running a little bit longer if next thing is to remove outlet tube from the turbo to make sure the turbine spins smoothly , either, while cranking the car or running

Does it have a check engine light on? If you don't check the tranny oil make sure not low also check the engine and transmission mounts especially the one underneath goes from transmission to subframe if you need more specific help that's my email jogimune06@gmail.com

(If you see this please respond) I wish you could possible explain a little more. I'm having the same issue. Do all durangos have to be pushed to the front like yours then tightened? You mentioned if this doesn't work, to keep adjusting it. When you adjust it correctly will it automatically show on the screen the correct gear you are in? Mine is stuck in drive on the dashboard, but I can put the gear. In park. I got home, pulled into my parking area and put the car in park. But it stayed showing in drive. Are there possibly any other issues? Or should I keep adjusting that same area till it catches on?

having same issue you can't release the brake pedal when you first start the car or you will have to shut off and reddit all over just to get it to go in reverse
