It feels like a cheap cop out just going to sleep when im sad, but closing my eyes sometimes and just "giving up" seems to genuinely help from time to time. Im scared this temporary fix is gonna start to wear off and not work anymore, almost like a drug. except im not gonna be able to force myself to "give up", "relax", or close my eyes harder when my solution begins to inevitably stop working. I dread the future, but I used to be so excited and I hate how unmotivated, whiny and self-loathing i've become. I hate myself so much and Im just hoping my genuine overwhelming self-hatred will eventually turn into motivation to change. I feel bits and pieces of the urge slip through now and then, but it goes away pretty quick. I have a girlfriend of 2 years now and if im being completely honest, from a young age I always knew my father would pass relatively young so I had ample time to prepare. I shouldnt be this sad. I still have my mom and a little brother as well as my gf. Her 21st birthday/our 2nd anniversary is coming up next month and I have no clue what to get her. I genuinely feel such a strong resentment towards myself that I've never felt with anyone else
